I have a 2012 yamaha yfz 450 that bogs pretty bad when I give it throttle. I used seafoam on my echo srm-266 weed eater and it fixed it right up. I'm gonna give it a go on the atv and see what happens! Thanks for the video!

Haven't used it just yet, but will be in the next couple of weeks. I already bought a can and am quite certain it will help clear out any old stale gas varnish that might be in the carbs. I heard so many good things about Seafoam, so it can't hurt to give it a try.

Not sure if you will see this but i having some issues with my vstar 1100, coughing up at 40-50 km/h and stops if i try to go faster. Someone suggested me to use seafoam. I read you what i did steps, after leaving it overnight, you rode the bike on reserve tank plus seafoam? Thanks

Mine sat for a few months over winter, first ride out was bogging and jumping like a kangaroo. Drained fuel tank, replaced with premium fuel and changed inline fuel filter, and changed air filter and plugs to new ones. Still ran like crap so warmed up bike, opened up to see carb intake and gently poured seafoam into carbs while running until she wanted to die and revved. Boat loads of white smoke, and repeated twice until she spluttered and suddenly as quick as that she idled perfectly. Put everything back together and went for ride, she was back to her former self and responsive once again. Put 60ml in 15 litres of fuel tank and ran it hard down motorway. Result in massive difference and is now part of my routine maintenance to pour into carbs each start of riding season, plus run it in tank every other full tank.

Rookie question - once you syphon the fuel out and add the sea foam do you go on reserve and run the first 5? Assuming its on reserve when you do the 30 minute ride the next day?
@goatzillarides
@goatzillarides 2 жыл бұрын
My rookie answer is that it probably doesn't matter. If you siphon the whole tank and have some in the reserve it's still a high concentration. Just need to circulate it through the sytem so it can do it's job, then burn it off. Hope it works for you.

Nice and instructive video. My question is what is the article number of Sea Foam that you used, I want to have the same one and there are so many. My V-star 1100 -06 has some kind of carb problem. It is the rear cylinder that doesn't run until I reach at least 1500 RPM. This makes it very difficult to start driving since I miss one cylinder. I guess that I have a clogged jet, maybe it's the pilot jet which is the smallest one. Anyway thanks for your advice. Björn

Thanks for the video. That's exactly what I was planning to do. I don't understand why so many people on KZbin drain out the carbs etc when they can just run the stuff through the fuel system! ! How's it running now? .
@goatzillarides
@goatzillarides 7 жыл бұрын
It's working great. Been a long while since I used the Seafoam and still don't have any problems. Yeah, no reason to go through the huge pain in the arse or expense of cleaning the carbs out when it's so easy, cheap and effective to run a cleaner through the gas tank. It probably wont work for all situations though, but always worth a try.

That’s exactly what I’m saying why do you need to drain anything to use seafoam? Just pour it in the tank let it run and that’s it

Followed every step you said, but concerned about riding it 30-45 minutes before putting in fresh tank of gas. Its already pretty low on fuel after running it for 10 minutes yesterday.

I not saying. It can be. But if it was a newer bike. Or simply 5 years old ams left it. And the more u use at every gas pump. The clearner it will do it possibly it clean it self. Unless u have that drain plug. That fill up dirty depots then drain it and keep using it. That what i do for my ninja kawaski 2013 what i do i put fresh prem gas. And fill it about. More or less. 5 tablespoons or 8. Cant hurt to put more. Direct into gas drive it then let it park over night. Then ur good to drive it. There no need to flush the whole tank when putting it in gas. Only if ubditect put in motor need to be replace w newer oil after 100-300 miles.

Nice! I'm just about to run Seafoam through the carbs on my'82 GL1100 Goldwing to try and clear up a leaking float needle valve which causes one of my cylinders to get hydrolocked. Did you have difficulty starting the bike cold the next day since the carbs were filled with Seafoam instead of gas?

It’s NOT bullshit. I work on bikes, therefore I’ve never tried it in a car, and it had to take carb off and clean by hand. The blackish film was all over everything inside. Ya could’ve taken it apart and blown it out and would’ve probably gotten same result. Sounds like ya had a lil something clogging a jet. And no one know the long term effect on the float etc. this shit is crap and I don’t recommend to any customers. I tried it on three different brands of bikes and NONE OF EM acted well. Better off just putting Lucas fuel treatment or better yet use an additive the negates the bad effects of Ethanol which dries out your petcock and grimes up your carb. Jmho from someone that’s worked on bikes and have tried all this crap over last 30+ years. Lucas is good tho. I gained fuel mileage and upon tearing carb down it’s was immaculate.

@@goatzillarides yeah. I mean every bike is different getting to the carbs. As in taking the tank and seat off, but to clean them all you need is a philips screw driver to take the bottom or top off. (be very gentle with the screws and tap them with a little mallet their soft) then once you get the bowl off just unscrew the jets, blow them out with air or a guitar string if you have one and replace after you take each one out so you don't loose them or mix them up. If the bowls are stained, who cares, but if there's sediment you'll want to wipe that out. And the needle valve you'll find under the floats, just clean the hole out with a qtip while the carbs off. It sounds a lot more difficult than it is

Loves this. Had a scooter honda that i got from some one that had not use it for 13 years. Put a new battery and it keep stalled on me put new oil change and new gas. Was trying to get on. Then it died on me then i was like fuck it so i hea rd of this got it pour about. 1 shot of it in tank waiting for 15 mins shaking tank bacl and forth. And this is a hond ch80cc and then. I got it rwady to start boom it started on first jump then. I drove it around. While i was driving it. For about 1 month gas was getting low and it woypdent go any faster i was like shit i broke it something so i tookn it home. 25mph so slow lol then. Bottom of fuel. The. Airline. I pull it off and nasty stuff was all black from all these years. Was in that tube. When i lut foam in it clean whole system. And plug it back went put more gas and put. About 5 shots in it. And. I had higher speed and gas was saving big time amd it was running cheery this works wonders. I saved my self about 500 bucks while i got thos form for 6 bucks amd now i use ot every gast tank even cars truck motors etc..

😂 the man in the video warns me of people like you , and I have my own experience with people that don’t reach a certain IQ limit. There is in the way the sea foam did this to your bike dude , the bike won’t run 100% healthy but it will run off of pure seafoam. Sometimes best not to give your opinion unless it’s asked for.

@@codymcbride6793first off - what the fuck is up with your tone?!? Nice to meet you fellow rider and enthusiast. Good to see we approach things as adults and comrades in internet comments. SMH. Secondly- the carb was blocked up, we think as a result of the seafoam pushing more gunk around. Granted the carbs were almost certain to get clogged regardless in this case, but I posted this warning for others to approach with care. I was riding before the seafoam. I wasn’t after. It’s not magic. It won’t work the same for everyone. Approach with care. A simple idea that I also use with my replies friend.
