Ok, 2002 F450 diesel 280,000 miles. This thing was smoking embarrassingly, to the point of not wanting to drive it. It was definitely unburnt fuel. I have regularly used Power Service but to no avail it started smoking like a chimney. I followed the directions for this 'hot' treatment, let it soak an extra 5 minutes because that is how bad it was. I was blown away by the instant results. I will be using this in my vehicles just as preventive maintenance. It took care of my issue instantly. Great product and thanks!

+Paul Fitzpatrick Hi Paul Thanks for sharing your experience and glad you figured it out! When it comes to real world outcomes, high concentrations of straight Sea Foam through primary diesel fuel filters and full cans of Sea Foam Spray (for gasoline intakes only) through gasoline throttle bodies are working through injectors (diesel) and chambers at fuel mix ratios of up to 50 percent (gas) to running on straight Sea Foam (diesel). Flat out, the petroleum solvency/dosage effect is considerably greater than tank additive mix ratios. Tank approaches are important and great for cleaner fuel system maintenance, but serious cleaning results require a real world cleaning approach. Remember that Sea Foam is made from petroleum so always safe, can never add too much to diesel fuel...So, can clean and lubricate your injectors and chambers as often as you think you need to! Watch for our new videos on "How Engines Work" where we show how soft, unburned hydrocarbon residues form...Stay tuned!

I couldn't even get 1 whole can in the fuel bowl, I had a hose hooked up to the drain (so I didn't waste any additive) and had to drain off about 6oz to get the filter back in without overflow. All right, I'm a believer. I did an injector hot soak on a 99' F350 7.3 ZF6 (over 500k mi.) this afternoon. I was experiencing somewhat of a 'choppy' vibration at higher RPM's or high idle revs. Also, it seemed sluggish at WOT. It did not cure this issue 100%, but my injectors are fairly old and the truck was sitting for over 2 years awaiting a tranny rebuild. There was however a noticeable difference. The truck seems livelier, and the idle seems much smoother. I followed the directions supplied in this video by Sea Foam Official to a 'T'. Only issue I ran into, was discovering a fuel bowl O-ring leak (totally unrelated to the hot soak), which I suppose is a good thing to find it sooner than later (and luckily I have a fuel bowl refresh kit on hand)... It's been a long journey bringing back this 7.3 to its former glory after a long life on the road as a heavy haul commercial fleet truck. Sea Foam hot soaks will definitely be part of my regular maintenance routine going forward.

I would think two minutes would be a little too long to run to get in the injectors. Like my 6.9 and 7.3 engines runs a lot of bypass or return fuel to the tank. I'd think maybe 30 seconds or so would be more than enough. Maybe take the lines loose and hand pump the Seafoam into the filter , that way one would be sure to get the benefit of the product.
@SeaFoamOfficial7 жыл бұрын
Phil: anywhere from :30 to 2 minutes would work fine. Either way, straight Sea Foam is able to pass through the injectors and into the chambers, which is a considerably higher cleaning concentration than mixed in fuel.

So I have Fiat Stilo, JTD 1.9 L and 115 hp (Turbo Diesel Engine) 2003. It has around 530.000 true kilometres on its clock, and it's still running great. People say that those Fiat engines last up to one million kilometres and that they were seeing those examples so I wouldn't say it's worn out too much. I mean, it runs great and compression seems good especially due to cold winters we have here. It pulls well as well. However, it began being a bit noisy after this last and harsh winter. I see a lot of smoke as well and I heard about your product. Is it safe to use your product for a machine with so much mileage? Are there some steps that you didn't mention and that I should take care of for this specific example? The most videos I've watched on youtube is about gasoline engines and with a lot less mileage. However, the results were epic as uploaders made comparison videos mostly! I hope you can answer to me soon because I really love my car and I would like to spend some more time with it!

Yes, safe in older engines. For diesel engines, best 2 Sea Foam uses are 1) to apply the fuel filter prime treatment two times per year and 2) add 1 to 1.5 ounces of Sea Foam to each quart of oil toward the end of each oil change interval - - 100 to 300 miles before is recommended. Other: Is your noise a lifter noise? Somehting else?
@mrmmk127 жыл бұрын
Thank you for replying so quickly. I wanted to make sure that using Sea Foam on older engines will not decrease the compression. Compression is as we know very important to diesel and especially if you have cold winters and you do not own garage like me. I would like to point out that we in Serbia receive only trash fuel. Forget about EU standards being "applied everywhere". That is why our engines last lesser here if you do not maintain them properly, which most of us here aren't capable of. Perhaps, like the previous owner, who had no idea about how a car works. However, he was gentle to it and as I said, the engine seems to be not so worn out. Lifter noise is not bad but it is expected. It usually decreases as the engine warms up and get to its optimal temperature. More dominant noise is the injector noise that is "rank rank rank rank". I noticed that one of my injectors is especially noisy, the second one in a row. However, I noticed that noise being increased after this last winter, which was the harshest in last 3-4 years. I suspect on a lot of carbon build up inside of the engine. I previously had my airflow sensor ( the one after the air filter box and right before the turbine) not working properly, so I guess that the mixture of air and fuel was pretty much rich as well. If it would be helpful, I can upload videos of the engine being started up cold in morning and running for a few minutes and one after it reaches it's optimal working temperature so you could have a listen of it. Oh and yeah, the engine is very sensitive to regular Euro Diesel (not D2 diesel oil) and Premium Euro Diesel. If I would use the regular one, at start up, it would run very stuttery, like a tractor until it would reach up it's optimal working temperature while, on Premium, I do not encounter that. The regular Euro Diesel is regular, not something outdated like D2 Diesel Oil .Thank you in advance.

I have a 2001 F-350 7.3 and if I don't plug it up at night, it has a hard time turning on in the mornings, even in the summer time, once it heats up it runs normal. Yesterday it was blowing white smoke during acceleration, it would bog down and instead of accelerating it starts to blow white smoke. I bought the big bottle (64oz.) of Howe's diesel treat and poured about 2/3 into an almost full tank (approx. 20 gallons), and nothing changed. That same day I tried the seafoam procedure that is on this video. The truck was warmed up, I replaced the fuel filter and filled the chamber with sea foam, turned it on for 2 mins. Then turned it off for 15 mins, and when I took it for the 30 min. ride to clean the hydro carbons; I only made it down the street and the truck turned off and doesn't want to turn on again. I removed all the contents from the fuel filter chamber and filled it up with diesel fuel and still doesn't want to start. I think a few of my injectors were bad and that's why it needs to be completely warmed up to run normal. But the white smoke only when accelerating was a new problem that just started yesterday. Any suggestions?
@SeaFoamOfficial6 жыл бұрын
White exhaust smoke at start up can mean there's not enough heat to burn the diesel fuel properly, which can have to do with cranking speed or motor oil that's too heavy...bad solenoid??/ If white smoke shows while driving can be injector/s or injector timing, worn injector pump or air leak... Let us know what happens.
@GulfFreewayComputers6 жыл бұрын
It was a bad fuel pump, I had a precision fuel pump that was very loud, I noticed that when I turned the key it wasn't making the loud noise like it normally does, when I put my original Bosch back on, it fired up like a champ!!!! So if your truck starts to blow smoke during acceleration it could be your fuel pump is starting to go bad.....then in my case I guess it finally went totally dead.....and I was thinking the sea foam was the cause.......thanks for the reply guys.......and I'll try the procedure again soon since I didn't get to do it all the way through

After about one minute or so warning light will show up on the dash than fter another 30 seconds the engine cuts out. I cleaned the EGR, polished the glow plugs and tested them, put a new fuel filter, tried a working SCV from my mate's car, and did a full tank with fuel treatments. None of the above-mentioned worked however the car performance is much better. I tried to warm up the fuel rail line with a hot cloth soaked in hot water and will top it with hot water every now and then and the car did not cut off but won't drive as normal unless the engine itself is warmed up.
