@moremolecules3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jozsef, thank you. I would not do 2 times in a row, as you never know it could damage components, Wynn's also only recommend every 3rd fill up. Also, if it is too strong concentration could also potentially damage something. I made a mistake and poured 37L, this probably is ~2x less concentrated than it should be. Most likely (I will try next time) with much less fuel in the fuel tank to begin with and only 20L of diesel inside the improvement would be much better. I would expect the relationship to be inear up to an extent, in other words the more concentrated the better the cleaning.

They’re great synthetic products. I had an old motor, I used the engine cleaner fluid and the stop leak fluid. It was all of £10 for both. Worst case I lost £10. After doing some work and checking the engine nuts and bolts and ensuring everything was tightened to spec, replacing any easily accessible leaking gaskets. Using the cleaning engine before an oil change then the stop leak after an oils change - firstly no more leaks on the changed gaskets. Also, no more leaks on the gaskets that were leaking previously. Engine was smooth as butter - car was a merc c240, 97 model - could drive all day without issues. Eventually had to get rid due to it getting to the point where it was being maintained more than drove. Long story short those wynns fluids are decent.

Thanks for the video I've tried running liquid moly diesel purge (bypassing diesel filter) straight from the Diesel purge can. To be honest it didn't improve the rough idle (slight white smoke as well ) as the engine warms up the idle improves and stops smoking. I did the injector return flow testing and it showed two injector with excessive return flow. When you do this injector return flow testing do you do it at operating temperature or slight warm up. I get different results when slight warm to operating temperature.
@moremolecules3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tony, the before and after measurements were done at the same conditions, I mean as much as I can make them exactly the same. I get the engine pretty warm and in operating temperature. I do my normal 40min drive around town and a bit of motorway as well. I put the car in the garage and start measuring straight away. Both pre/after were done with the same route and driving time. Unfortunately, it will be way too much of a faff to do one measurement, then drive 30-40min and then do another measurement. I do the three measurements one after another, so the engine will get slightly colder with the second and third measurement. You can kind of notice this in the numbers, the first one (for all 4 injectors) is always a bit higher than the 2nd and 3rd measurement, i.e. returns more hot when slightly less warm engine. As an absolute measurement, this will not be too good, but works well as comparing before and after as both are affected by the same thing. Basically it is relative experiment, does it return less fuel or not and for that it is OK. It takes me ~1h-1.5h to do the 3 measurements with the 3x3min running time of the engine. You coiuld try with the Wynn's. My previous experiment with BG245 did nothing in terms of fuel returned with the same testing regime (kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYu1qHminr-fbsk). Also it really matters what has clogged the injectors, if it is something that can be dissolved then there will be an improvement, but if it say mechanical in the injector itself then there will be no improvement.
@moremolecules3 жыл бұрын
For the rough idling I would say to check and potentially clean the EGR valve. It may be sticking a bit which will always give rough idle. Because it only costs time, maybe a bit for carb cleaner, it is worth trying (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYW0pYmAetZ6jqs).

For the price it is worth a try, but I would also check if the EGR valve is not dirty and potentially clean it. That might get rid of the depolution fault.

@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
@@al100ad the cambelt service might be coincidental. The P1351 is likely to be related to the glow plugs, one or several are not working, so you may want to replace them. The P0234 maybe be related to high boost, so probably the turbo solenoid is stuck at the left side of the back of the engine. You maybe be getting all these from that.

Yes to some degree. THere will be more detergents in the premium fuel, so in the long term probably better to use premium, but I am still a bit sceptical, as no one tells you what is inside and if it really works.

You could have had a more accurate measurement by having 4 identical measurement tubes and putting all the liquid from one injector the measurement tube before finally measuring the total amount. However, the differences between the injectors were big enough that even much less accuracy would have been totally fine already.

Hey, before like 3 months i had commented on a video of you with egr remove. I removed the egr and now i read in forums that removing the egr will clog the dpf. Is this true ? They say the egr is working in the dpf regen phase
@moremolecules3 жыл бұрын
Not too sure about the relationship between the EGR and the DPF regen. As far as I know it should not be a problem to regen with blocked EGR and it should not clog the DPF. I might be wrong on this one as I have not looked into it too much. It depeds on the conditions needed for the DPF regen and if working EGR is part of that. The EGR is there only for the nitrous oxides, it does not do anything for the carbon, the carbon does not burn and it will still go to the DPF. Whether EGR is blocked or not, same amount of carbon will go through the DPF.
3 жыл бұрын
You can block the egr valve with a fap without worries. I noticed this on my Peugeot 206. Before the egr blocking, the car regenerated every 250 kilometers approximately. After blocking the egr, regeneration takes place approximately every 400 kilometers. Result in less dirtying and the consumption at stabilized speed (below 2000 rpm) is improved. No improvement in consumption during acceleration phases or on motorways above 100 km / h.
@littlereptilian75803 жыл бұрын
@@Jani9238 yes but why
@tozzi323 жыл бұрын
Don't trust these forums. EGR operation will put down combustion quality in the cylinders and will also push dirty build up in the intake manifold. When you remove the egr you're preventing intake manifold to get dirty and enhancing a lot the combustion. As the quality of the combustion is reduced the more soot is produced and the more the DPF will get blocked
@moremolecules3 жыл бұрын
@@tozzi32 Many thanks tozzi32, really appreciate your reply. The EGR gasses will reduce combustion temperature and hence the produciton of NOx and I have always been on the opinion that EGR should be kept on these vehicles. If one remaps the ECU then it is a different matter.

Yes, well, there were a few more litres in the tank, as it was not completely empty. I only topped up the 37L and I approximately ended up at the same empty level, but might have been a bit lower at the end, difficult to tell. I have always done consumption calculations on mine (full to full) and measuring how many miles/km I have travelled. On average my consumption is ~5.5L per 100km, but it varies, in winter more and in summer on longer journies a bit less. I think the best I ever achieved was 4.3L per 100km. Worse I think ~7-8L per 100km.

@moremolecules3 жыл бұрын
Am I correct in calculating that this is ~8.2 L/100km? Seems a bit much for 1.6HDi, but it is 145bhp. That is quite powerful. With mine I get ~5-6 L/100km, but really depends on the speed of the car and length of travel and mine is only 92bhp. If there are roadworks and speed is reduced to 50mph (80km) for a prologed periods of time I do get even below 5.
@peterjoseph28033 жыл бұрын
I'm always driving a cold motor top speed is 100/80km . I still have to pull out the EGR and injection seals. That could contribute to the problem.

@moremolecules3 жыл бұрын
Hi skyliner, well it did unclog them and the data produced supports that. Now, it was not by a huge amount. Yes, I completely agree that they might not be returning equally and as you suggest N3 might be like that from factory. I should have done this when I got the car, but I was not mechanically that savvy at the time. I did not want to run the 20L straight after the first one. Who knows if too much of the stuff could do something to the diesel pump. I left a few tank fulls in between and currently I am running the 20L and will have the data and video soon. Wynn's is everywhere and I am really surprised you cannot get it. I will try the STP products later in the year. All the best.

Here’s a fact for the diesel owners. Most diesels made since the year 2000 are not compatible with bio diesel at all. The owners manual provided by the manufacturer usually specifies this. All diesel for sale that is not premium diesel has up to 12% bio diesel in it, yeah the cheaper stuff. The fastest way to gum the injectors up and make them sticky is using this cheap fuel. The premium diesel is more expensive because it has double the detergents in it and has no bio in it. If you cheap out on fuel you get problems long term, if you buy the right stuff your car will last longer. Even strictly only using premium diesel I still run injector cleaner through it every month. I’m well over 200k miles or 360k km’s and she goes like hell. Your choice on the fuel you use, you can foot the bill at the fuel station or foot the bill at the repair shop lol.
@moremolecules25 күн бұрын
All sound advice, in addition, the biodiesel on older vehicles, potentially new ones as well, will eat into rubber components quicker. The newer ones are made with less susceptible rubber components, but still.
