Is this a G or a D? I'm just learning about this instrument and I want to buy one but I need to know which is which and what is what. I see you aren't very active on your comments. I hope you see this.

@@Pack.Leader It's in the key of D, Seagull haven't done a Merlin in G for quite a while! The instrument is tuned D-A-D and it really is lovely to play and very easy to pick up.
@Pack.Leader2 жыл бұрын
@@ForsythsCoUkMusicShop If I happen to come across a Merlin in G, should I avoid it and buy the D? Just want to make sure I get the best one. Thank you for replying. I absolutely love this video. What a sweet tune and you played it so well.
@theskywhale46832 жыл бұрын
@@Pack.Leader I would suggest the D over the G model, I found the G model far too low-pitched to play clear melodies on anything but the top strings. The D has a much sweeter tone, especially in the spruce version

Why do they put the 2 high strings together?
@ForsythsCoUkMusicShop4 жыл бұрын
Hi Marcus. It's because the 2 high strings are the melody strings on a dulcimer. That then strengthens the melody line when played alongside the thicker strings.
