I have a Seagull S6+ Cedar GT left handed; basically the same thing. It did take a while to get the lefty version but well worth the wait. The first one shipped was busted in the box from poor mail handling but the next one that showed up was fine.

We found this guitar in an attic of a house we bought... says seagull s6 cedar inside and also has l. r. baggs electric 9v battery preamp. Unsure if its ever been played... super condition... phillips screws on the preamp were sort of corroded a bit other than that nothing... ofcourse i cant say if it sounds good since i cant play.

They are great. I bought mine used also, my Sea Gull is my only acoustic guitar. I love it, play it and fix it. They have a very full tone that no one can match. I did have a choice, this or a Martin. My Sea Gull is the best and I am not a name snob.

my seagull will never leave my collection.. i have the same one in left handed and about 3 years old. i've already got the marks were it has eaten away near the pick guard.. but. ill never ever give up my seagull until i pass away and pass it down to one of my musically inclined nephews or sons.. which will be 50 to 60years from now.. when im in my 70's which ill still be playing.

I have the same old one Seagull with at that time the black pickguard on it, mine is problably 20 years old.The sound is just awsome, i would not change for another one i think, the sustain is Great !

2 years ago I bought a 1987 s6. Love it. This year Santa got me a 2007 la Patrie Concert (Also Godin family). Haven't set it down since. Godin makes great guitars. Best wishes.

I have a fun Seagull story. I had tried a few in GC and was impressed. I live in Sturbridge MA. I saw a nice Seagull on Craigslist. It was a Seagull Maritime SWS HG all mahogany guitar. It was dusty with rusted strings. I offered the kid $200. He wanted 300. But he seemed to have an urgent need so when I took out $200 he agreed. These are $800 new. It sounds lovely. Best low cost North American made guitars. I need a new acoustic and really want an Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Hummingbird but if I can''t get one soon I may just get another Seagull. Long, long ago, I was the punk rocker that people lent their guitars too. And I still channel Joe Strummer sometimes, but more from the Mescaleros than The Clash!

Awesome Guitars! I had a 12 string Seagull in the 1980s, man I wish i still had it, the solid top would probably sound amazing now. My favorite part was the super low action, a 12 string acoustic that felt like a Telecaster!

Mine is a 05 MJ M6 CW (cutaway) its a great solid cedar top and the tonal quality is what makes the guitar. However, some guitar makers don't use cedar just for the reasons having to do with the fact it doesn't glue up as well. Also the company has to retool to make the top thicker but that isn't really the issue. I've since buying mine found out they don't make it exactly the same now and in fact you can't even find it new with a cedar top or at least I couldn't. The Seagull dealer here stopped carrying them unless they are the original like he sold or one he sold. So apparently the company has changed gears in how they do things or what wood or laminate they use I don't know. What I do know is that mine is said to be worth more now just because its an original but I never knew exactly what that meant. I all I cared about was the sound and its fantastic! Get one!! Nothing but a 2700 buck Taylor comes close and for the money that makes the Seagull S6 or MJ M6 a steal used when you find one and they are out there! But it over a base series anything else new!!

just ordered the s6 slim I'm really excited to get it. I one I played at guitarcenter compared pretty well with the martins and taylors in the 700 dollar range.

Jesse, you are having a wonderful life. I want to resurrect the Seagull S6 Cedar. Recently (2-3 years ago) , I had the action adjusted and changed the strings, and its now comfortable. to play. Before, I did not play it for over 20 years been busy with business. I like to add a piezo pick up. I also would like to add a Fideli'tron mini humbucker p up (what do you think?). tnx for your advice, Ed

Omg i just played this guitar in local store and it's just awesome the price is 420 $ and it has beaten 1200$ taylor in my opinion. I began to save money i want it no matter what, try it you wont regret, a bit wider neck but really thin really nice

I went with the cedar over spruce, mainly because I have a Fender Newporter with a spruce top, but the cedar sounds wonderful to me.

Don't let the width of the neck scare you either. Their is a slim version for those with smaller hands like me, and the entourage is not as thick as the original s6.

in France i bought the same s6, same age, same broken look, its a fantastic guitar very easy to play with a very good sound,and i agree Seagull can rival Martins or gibsons, further seagull artist is my favorite.

hey jesse, i have a seagull acoustic only S6+ and its got the cedar top cherry sides and back and mahogany neck. its like 10 yrs old in great shape. how much would you sell this for. is 100.00 too low have many buyers right now. but dont wanna lose money either. thanks for reply.

I recently got a Seagull as well and the bridge similarly began to peal off. I wonder why they haven't fixed this problem in like 20 years... Oh well. Excellent guitars nonetheless.

Cedar guitars are the bestvsoundig Seagull with the only deawback cedar is softer rhan say spruce and you must be more carefull I have marks on mine where I don't know where they came from all on the top

i would say seagull are well woth the money but are guitars what tend to be someone who cannot afford gibsons but can afford £300 pound + i would not sugeest this a beginner guitar for the price tag and the you will not appretaicte the value seen as you go strait onto an expensive one buy and yamaha or a fender for your starter guitars.
