What a great quote from this Come Follow Me podcast, "Refusing to reach to the Savior never makes anything better."

I've thought that I got past dark places, but those dark places come back. There are times and events that just smack us down. Jesus is the answer, but sometimes the darkness is overwhelming.

"Beauty from ashes" - those scriptures with that reference are my favorite "rescue scriptures." God can (and will) make everything He touches beautiful.

This New Testament have always been one of my favorites. I always thought of the level of faith she exercised. Now with your help I have seen a new point of view or angle. I have struggled with depression all my life. Becoming a member of the church 37 years ago have help me;but I still need to take a day at a time.

I enjoyed the phrase she “sleepeth” which renews my hope for those I know and love who are not currently committed to Christ. Thank you for pointing that out. (And nice sweater, John.)

This was a very timely episode for me. My only sister died by suicide just 3 weeks ago. It has been a very difficult difficult time for me, her husband and children, and all the rest of the family and friends that knew and loved her. I really loved how you said you sometimes feel your sister close and other times she’s busy. Thank you for your thoughts. My sister was also 40.

I’m so sorry too, that is extremely heart wrenching… My mom chose suicide 12 years ago next week. Over time I have come to realize that the closer I am to Jesus Christ the less heartache I feel. I have been blessed to received a hopeful, positive glimpse of where she is/will be in eternity, for which I am very grateful. May God bless you, your sister, & your family to feel His love & heal all of your precious souls.

I am thankful for this episode. For waiting on the Lord . My daughter has struggled with depression and anxiety for five years . She has had a hard time feeling the spirit and so she has turned away from the church and her testimony. As a mother and parents it has been heartbreaking watching our daughter change and see the light is gone from her countenance. I have hope through Jesus Christ I really don't know what it will look like and what the journey will be because it has been a very hard five years . I know he is aware of her. I will wait upon the Lord and have faith . Not knowing if it will be in this life or the next..

Oh wow. Thank you for sharing, Stephanie. Keep waiting on the Lord. He wins! He already won! We just need to wait sometimes before we witness that victory. But that victory and joy and healing are coming!!

I can’t thank you enough for your presentation of the woman with the issue of blood, and Legion in the Gadarenes. I have related these two stories to my own life personally today more than ever before. I am almost 74 and for 64 years I have suffered with chronic headaches/migraines but only get worse. I’ve seen countless doctors and spent untold money to find a cure.Sometimes it feels almost impossible to trust in the Lord‘s timing, but I know I must. Also my youngest son passed away at age 42 last year. He was the epitome of Legion. As a young boy, he was very intelligent, good looking, with sooo many talents, until he became obsessed with drugs and alcohol. They finally took his life. I can’t wait to see him again once the Savior has healed him. ♥️

I have always thought it was interesting that swine were being raised in Iseral. I understand that the Iseralites considered the pig as an unclean animal and would not eat them. So here are these evil spirits that wanted a body so badly that they were willing to inter the bodies of the swine. An animal considered unclean. The swine on the other hand were noble enough to know that they did not want those evil spirits in them and they cast themselves into the sea, releasing themselves from the evil spirits. I had a brother-in-law who took his own life. Was he casting himself into the sea to rid himself of an evil spirit? I know I have never been able to judge him. I often think when I see him again he will be whole and unbroken. The Lord's timing does not always come into this life or in the way we think it should.

Wow. Thanks for sharing this personal story. So many people are struggling with different dark influences in their lives. Like you said, I think the best thing we can do is love them and never give up on them, and never forget that what we see on the outside is not an accurate picture of who they really are on the inside as sons and daughters of God!
