Yep, he actually had blocked or helped Block the d end out the play. Then when he saw CMC could break it he crossed him over and took out the DB with a de-cleater block and continued to follow the play to the endzone. It was fantastic

This is how he got 1.3k+ receiving yards with a dozen+ of catches less than the other receivers did that year. He got chunks of yards on each reception. He was 7th in receiving yards on only75 catches. Every receiver above him had at least 96 catches. The problem is he wants a big raise, but Purdy is also due a big raise after this season as his rookie contract will also expire. Both won't be able to get what they "should" or want unless Lynch can work some more contract magic on the team.

As a 49ers fan, I can appreciate players who can ball on other teams in the division... I just don't like it when they do it again us, but I can appreciate it. You guys have Lockett and DK who at times can seem absolutely beastly, and even JSN looking very viable, the Rams with Kupp and Nacua, and the Cardinals with... well lets see how Harrison Jr. does this year...

@ the author, five minutes and 45 seconds in, Purdy didn’t just have the confidence… he had the showed the ability to lead a receiver away from coverage on that throw. Watch again and pay attention to where Aiyuk was going, and then the change in his route to grab the ball that was leading him away from those two defenders.

Aiyuk was rated #1 for % of catches that were a 1st down at 81%. Think about that for a sec, and majority of it was Purdy throwing dots to him. EDIT: 49ers fans shouldn't be afraid of him getting traded. This isn't the NBA where the players have so much power because of their CBA. The contract of Aiyuk falls on what a rookie contract / player can and can't do. What he can't do is force a trade it's not part of the NFL CBA. All the Niners have to do is franchise tag him (2 years in a row) and he's stuck with them for 2 years, this is part of the NFL CBA. He can hold out and not play, but he won't get paid for every game he doesn't play.

Hey Big R, love your reactions/breakdowns! You mentioned his blocking... they left out him decleating a Steelers defender in the 1st game of the season to help spring McCaffrey for a 65-yard TD run. He's got some hops too... they should him jumping over a defender, but his rookie year he hurdled an Eagles defender on his way to a TD, and that play always shows up in "the most athletic plays" compilations.. Regarding the situation he's likely not going to be traded and he's not going to sit out, for two reasons: 1) He'll be fined up the wazoo 2) He has to play at least a certain number of games, otherwise he doesn't accrue an additional season in terms of the contract/CBA, so the 49ers can continue to tag him/have him under contract if he doesn't play. He'll likely get a new contract or play on the 5th year option. Also, the 49ers tend to finalize their deals lateish anyway... he just needs to be patient.

Aiyuk is our best receiver by far right now. I do not want to see him go but I'd understand if it happens. 49ers don't have to trade him this year and they can tag him twice if they wanted to. Only way I see him being traded right now is if someone massively overpays for him which no team is going to do since he'd still need a contract on top. I'd assume he's forced to play the last year of his contract and either a deal gets done next off-season or he gets traded then. We still have to pay Purdy next off-season as well and if he plays anywhere near the level he did last season he's going to cost a lot as well. Edit: Low-key a Brock Purdy highlight reel too, lmao.

To put in perspective… they say BA is the 3rd or 4th option on the team right?? So what team makes their 3rd or 4th option the highest paid guy on the team? CMC is at 16M, Deebo 23M & Kittle 15M… yet they offered BA 27M but that’s not enough ? The thing is he wants 30 so he can have the title of “2nd highest paid after Jefferson”

I even answered your’e question for you when I shouldn’t have. They paid Bosa 34M$ AFTER HE WON DPOY, ofcourse he’s worth the money. Is Brandon Aiyuk coming off a OPOY season? No he’s not. Even on a “bad” year for Bosa he had double digit sacks and is one of the best pass rushers/run defendersin the game. With him out there it dictates how offenses play against them. QB’s have to get the ball out quick. He’s a HUGE reason for their success and why they are sb contenders constantly. Edge rushers don’t have to tear up the stat sheet in order to be dominant/valuable (another thing you should have known)

Bosa also has a DROY along with his DPOY and should have won CPOY also if he ain’t get the DPOY. BA would have 30$M right now had he got OROY & OPOY awards along with being recognized as a top 3 player at his position.

Like any player he's good enough to be in the NFL clearly but come in man you have more players that can do what he does but dude asking to get a check the same as someone that's better than you is wild... Do I believe he deserves more than he was getting yes but st brown is more elite imo... BA can do better than what hes doing... I love seeing the greatness of my team but I also like to see the need of improvement... BA got a fumble trying to be too hard... What I do appreciate is his willingness to play even though hurt

I do not believe St Brown is a better receiver. However, St Brown gets more balls thrown his way, so he may have better stats . St Brown is good real good Receiver. I believe BA is just as good if not better.

49ers gotta give a raise to Purdy after this year too. Its a balance btwn that and giving Aiyuk a raise. Someone isn't going to get all they can/should, but should sign to play for the SB again. They still favorites to content.

He's fast and a great route runner, but 85-90% of these highlights were him being schemed wide open, or Purdy throwing him wide open. He doesn't make the plays if the scheme doesn't get him open. Trade him for Adams if he sits out, Adams makes plays even when hes doubled. Edit: he's also a great blocker.

i watched purdy highligts. I think if BA leaves SF Offense will take a dip. please watch how many plays he makes from bad throw passes by Purdy. BA attacks the ball and a hand catcher. he help purdy a lot not saying purdy is bad but purdy is help a lot but talented roster and great scheme. once again great job.
