Dry helpful. I always worry about parasites on the live food. Can thr live food carry any nasty germs or parasites that could harm the seahorses? Thank you for this important video. I hear in the seahorse tank you need to keep dissolved nutrients low as not to get bad bs Teri’s in the aquarium. Thank you Theresa

@@MegaMaddydog anything live added to the tank is a potential risk. This includes macro algae, peppermint shrimp, ghost shrimp, cleaner shrimp, copepods, amphipods, live sand, or live rock. It is a matter of weighing the risk against the longevity of the Seahorses. Usually, if you can order from reliable sources that tend to have clean, cured or cultured offerings, that is best. But it is not always possible. Although it is not a complete answer, I do have some comfort that I have an ultraviolet sterilizer on my aquarium. The cleaner shrimp help with removing parasites from the Seahorses and keeping up sea horse health provides them an immune system that works against potential bacteria or parasites.
