The difference in Big Mama’s running abilities after the line was cut was remarkable. Being able to get her lungs full of air let her get back to the water in a gallop. Beautiful sight. Well done gentlemen

These commercial fishing lines can just be so lethal to these poor seals. Wow, she nearly got away, but thank goodness you caught her, that line was so tight, you had trouble cutting it but it's off now. You're absolutely right, people just throw that rubbish into the ocean with no thought of what it might do to the seals, so irresponsible. Another great rescue guys, well done, that seal will be a lot better now without that tight fishing lines round her. 😊👍

The fishing industry plays a major role in the pollution crisis. However, the consumers are also to blame for it. We therefore encourage our viewers to stop eating seafood. Our addiction to single-use plastics also adds to the problem. The more awareness we create with these videos will drive a change to tackle its roots.

As much as the OCN crew does out actually rescuing these seals, I would like to extend great thanks to the unsung hero that spends hour after hour, day after day, actually editing all the camera footage and putting it online. These videos are accomplishing more good than you can know. They are being seen around the world. The statistics are eye opening! Good people will begin picking up tangled fishing lines they see laying by the garbage can, cutting straps down, better recycling and so on. They are going to want laws to change, protection for the environment that we’ve ignored far too long. ❤️
