Myleigh should paint 🎨 flowers on the lower end of the barn.

What you do now is temp. as you plan on building a home. Doing this to the barn will not only help you this winter but will help the animals, if you get some, in the future. I do enjoy your videos so much. Love how you work together so well. Also enjoy watching SLR as that couple is always doing work together. Your two videos are the main ones I watch daily. The others I watch maybe a couple times a week. I like them, but I love seeing improvements being made. It's just me. Haa

Don't know if you have a plan for building the big doors or not but here is what I did for my barn. I built a 2x4 frame with a horizontal cross piece in the middle. I cut 1/2" plywood rectangles(may be called gussets) to apply to all the corners where 2x4's met. I liquid nailed and screwed them to the frame and the applied the corrugated barn tin(same as what is on your barn). I hung them with large, heavy TEE hinges about 25 years ago, and they are still there, just as tight and solid as the day I hung them. They are very light weight for their size, and I hung them myself without an assistant. Thought I would share with you what I did. Hope it helps. Forgot to mention their size. It is a double door about 11ft wide and 10ft tall. One door fastens at the top and bottom with a bolt into the header above and a concrete threshold at the ground. The other has a latch that just fastens to the door since it is secured top and bottom. The door with a latch also has a foot bolt like the other that I only fasten if we are expecting high winds.

@ronatwell5379 Plan is to just build a wall instead of doors. If the camper ever needs to come out then the wall can be removed.

Hello Gary, Mary snd Miss Miley. Sealing both sides should help keep the barn warm this Winter. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦

Just my suggestion, when u build the door put in a double pane window or two for natural light inside and also airflow in the warmer months.

Gary, Have you considered making a radiant heating system using the wood stove to circulate the hot water ? Quiet and free
@TheThriftyGmaАй бұрын
. I agree. We used to have a Taylor stove. We had unlimited hot water and heat. The kids called it the caboose.
@JunktojemsHomesteadАй бұрын
@flatcreeklodge4628 yes I have. The cost of materials would be beyond our budget
@JunktojemsHomesteadАй бұрын
@flatcreeklodge4628 I do have an idea for helping circulate hot air through the barn that is cheap. Hopefully we can afford to put that together before it gets too cold.

When the rains come and the wind blows you will be able to find the spots easy.. hit with the foam. Fill a tube up with sand, or whatever.. and use it against the bottom of the exterior door.. keeps tge drafts out.

Think I'd find some used tin, frame that opening and just close it in for now. In the spring, when you all have the time and money maybe you can rig up some sort of door or not.

Mary, Gary & Myleigh, hope you are well! Gary, did you ever get the second coat of sealant on the roof? Now that 3 sides have been sealed, I would think that should be a big help keeping the cross breezes down. Next the main door! Looking awesome! ❤️❤️
@ellbow7287Ай бұрын
Gary said he'll give the roof the second coat when the leaves stop falling. To many leaves to stick to the wet paint and ruin the seal just now.😊
