2:16- Is that an entry point on the bottom of the door frame? 3:15-Damn!! I came here thinking I had a rat problem. Now I must search for a mice control channel. Thanks for your video Gary. Very educational

What about the giant gap underneath the door to the hot water heater room? Lol

Exactly what I was gonna ask! This is why you cannot trust most pest control companies, short sighted and lazy

IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT IF YOU SHOWED A BEFORE AND AFTER FIXING AREA
@tickyul3 жыл бұрын
Use mainly sheet-metal and type-s or type-m mortar.......ratfilths will chew through a lot of those fixes shown. Trees should be cut away from the building, it just makes it much easier for ratcreatures to skulk around and find access.

Jesus buddy I have an open outlet from the kitchen on the ground in which the washing machine and sink run into . .which runs into the sewer . . suddenly rats are walking into the kitchen and burrowing upstairs . .surely the landlord could raise the outlet 3 or 4 feet from the ground as a downward curved pipe protruding from the wall allowing water to drop into the shore and then cement the huge entrance at ground level .. .nightmare.

I have been in the process of doing exclusion for eight months. What a nightmare, had no idea my house was an inviting place for rodents. Moved to this house 7 years ago, never experienced this in my other home of 47 years. I now feel so naive that I was not aware, illness can make you lax in outer home upkeep. Just having a beautiful lawn won't keep rats away. They want shelter and food. Look everywhere for gaps it is amazing where you will find rodent entry points. Watch your garage door carefully if you open and close daily. Make sure the bottom seal is in good condition. I now use bleach to clean my property every single day and rinse any rodent pheromone found in their urine. This is a nightmare you don't want. Walk around your property and do exclusion work before they destroy your home and they will destroy it. Including your foundation, your roof, your wiring, your insulation, clothing, carpets, valuable stored antiques. Need I say more. I wish someone would have warned me. Hopefully this will make you aware of your exterior. Avoid planting trees if you can, large bushes, wood piles, sorry don't feed the birds or leave any kind of pet food and WATER around. You don't want the work I have had to do, it has been endless. If you are reading this because you may have a rat infestation, remember exclusion first, bait, trap these germ carriers. Avoid poisons. A really good quality cat food is a great bait. I'm talking a prescription cat food, they will run to the aroma. Fifty bucks for a small bag but it is worth it. I tried so many baits w/ a high failure rate. Luckily, I don't see them but my cats know they are in the roof. You will need to be scrupulously clean to avoid possible health issues. A nightmare no one wants. Good luck.

A rat would chew right through wood used at bottom of door! Should have used sheet metal. 22 gauge

With such gaps I think he has a raccoon problem entering the house.

They need to trim those trees and how come there are no responses from your channel to any of these comments?

Ermm theres a rat already in the hotwater cupboard lower left area just sitting there waiting for you to leave. Its comical you saying theres no more getting in and theres one sitting right in front of you lol and the gap under the door is big enough for a rat to get in.

Dude your work looks like amateur hour. What about the door gap under the water heater closet? Why the hell would you assume it was a roof joint before inspection at ground level?

Ok, am I going nuts? He opens the door, :59 into this, I swear there is a rat sitting right by that pipe. Freeze it and look. also that gap all along the bottom of the door is plenty big enough for a rodent to enter. Also any time I have EVER added mortar to existing cement, it rather quickly crumbles and comes off. Even a few of the places he shows it looks like as the mortar dried, it shrunk and pulls away from what it's stuck to. This just doesn't work.

Use a high quality fast setting patching mortar such as Cement All.
