Do RATS get out of cesspits and septic tanks into houses?
Yes they do. BUT WE CAN STOP THEM...and GUARANTEE FOR LIFE that the rats won't come back.
We are always hearing from people who live in the rural countryside this sentence, "We live in the country, we will always have rats."
This is a fallacy. We show you how we can make a rural rat problem a thing of the past and guarantee it stays that way.

All they are controlling is where they put it and how much they are charging, on the off chance they get lucky with the placement they are just changing a live infestation into a dead infestation, i can only imagine it leaving a wake of rotting corpses in wall cavities or like in that loft.

Here's a trick I learned by accident for catching mice. We had chicken scratch feed in a metal trash can with a lid. One day after feeding I didn't push the metal lid down on the trashcan. The lid was on the can but one part had a small gap between the lid and the can. The can was almost empty with about 1/4 inch of feed completely covering the bottom inside of the trashcan. The next day I went to get feed out of the can and 4 mice were inside the can. It was the best mouse trap I ever had.

This may sound crazy to most people but it’s true. What you describe above, if done intentionally, would be illegal in the UK and many other countries. It would be breaking animal welfare laws if there was no water and food left for the rodents and the ‘trap’ would need to be checked every 12 hours to make sure no distress was being caused to the trapped animals. Laws are great aint they 🙈🤣

We moved house about 3 years ago. Beautiful property, backing onto farmers fields. Nice large back garden with a small shed. Just after we moved in we spotted a large (about a foot long) rat in our cranberry tree. We later discovered a large network of tunnels going under the fence into the farmers field. (although there's actually a ditch between our back fence and the crop itself. Then we saw several rats gong under the shed (the floor was sitting on 4x4s and there was also a hole in the wooden floor, obviously created by the rats chewing their way in). So we were getting more and more concerned about our rat problem. We needn't have worried, we have two cats and two Pomeranians that seem to have taken care of the problem for us. Our tom cat stays out all night seems to be our most powerful little warrior. Sometimes we'd find about a dozen dead rats in our garden in the morning. During the day we even saw him catching a rat as our female cat just sat watching him. We have also seen her despatch the odd rat during the day but she's nothing like as efficient as our tom. He'll drag them out of the tunnels then despatch them pretty quick with a bite to the back of the neck. As for the dogs, they make a lot of noise and frighten the rats away, but I've never seen them actually catch a rat. It's been over two years now since I've seen a rat on our property. We also dug a trench below the fence and filled it with concreate, so that probably helps. We also laid a concreate base for the shed and moved it to a completely different part of the garden and repaired it's flooring. The neighbours on one side are grateful that, they too, seem to have no more problems with rats which they put down to our cats. Meanwhile, the neighbour on the other side doesn't like cats and would shoo our cats off her property if they ever dared go over there (so they don't any more). This neighbour still has a problem with rats in her garden and they petrify her.
@PestInterceptors
@PestInterceptors 9 ай бұрын
It sounds like a lovely theory, but I’m not sure it’s all down to the cat. One pregnant female rat (with enough food and shelter) can become 200 rats in twelve months. If you extrapolate that over a few years you can imagine the numbers. So unless you have a cat killing 200 rats a year…..see what I mean? It’s more likely that someone nearby has used poison. I guess it could be your cat. But even if it were a team of cats it would be impressive. And you would be finding dead rats everyday. Great results though and keep up the good work. 👍🏼

@@PestInterceptorsBut to be clear, we've never had rats inside this house. And the infestation we had in our yard was not connected with the sewers. These rats live in the countryside in burrows they make in the ground. To wipe them out entirely we'd have to cleans the entire British countryside. There are millions of them. We'll never eradicate them all, but with so much freedom, they're free to go elsewhere. It's not a matter of wiping out their entire population, it's just a matter of making our property unattractive to them. If their burrows are being invaded on a regular basis, they'll abandon it and move on.

I live in the Arizona desert where mesquite trees flourish. When the mesquite pods ripen, the rodents gather them up and store them in their nests so they have an almost constant food supply. I also have neighbors who feed the birds. I tried trapping them for 6 months and caught an average of 1 rodent per day, but they were breeding faster than I could trap them. (If nothing happens to them, one breeding pair can turn into 1,250 rats/mice in one year, and in 3 years can multiply to 1/2 a billion!). The traps were in locked bait boxes, but so far I've found about 4 dead birds in the rat traps. So traps don't prevent non-target creatures from being killed either. I tried cornmeal and baking soda but they wouldn't touch it. So finally I resorted to using rodent bait which is working. (I put chicken wire over the bait boxes to keep the birds out). I don't have rodents inside of any of my buildings and they aren't coming out of the septic tank or sewer pipes (which are all new). But they've chewed wires outside, torn the insulation off a vehicle hood, chewed through the windshield washer tubing, made a nest behind a glove box, destroyed veggies in my garden, and they've left trails of urine and feces all over, and I'm not going to put up with that. I'm going to keep poisoning them for a while longer, but eventually I will switch to feeding the survivors Conntraceptol, which is rat/mouse birth control.
@PestInterceptors
@PestInterceptors Жыл бұрын
Yes, external rats are harder to deal with than internal ones sometimes. In your case it sounds like a nightmare situation. I think what we would do in your situation is a regime of burrow baiting (as much as we hate using rodenticides it sometimes is the only answer!). Burrow baiting, if done correctly, is unlikely to affect other wildlife and it helps get over neophobia as the rats have to dig/chew through it to leave burrows. Find a rodenticide that can be used for this; I don’t know the laws and products in other countries. Bag the bait up in plastic bags. (Grain bait isn’t great, use a pasta or block bait). Push the bags into the rats burrows. Cover with soil and then a large stone/rock. (This prevents non targets getting to it). Do this every seven days until the holes stop reappearing. Then remove the rodenticide. Keep going until there is zero activity, you don’t want to leave any survivors! As for the vehicle problem, in the UK, there is a company called Lodi based in Kingswinford, West Midlands, England. They do a product that keeps rats away from vehicles and I have heard great feedback about this product. Get in touch with them and I’m sure they will send you some (kindly mention us when you do enquire). Best of luck.

@@PestInterceptors Cholecalciferol was one D3 formulation developed for Brushtail possums (NZ) that also got rats. Cannot comment how % effective it was, it was a paste & used it with the possum bait inside a paste ball. It got enough of the rats to enable some lure/paste to attract the possums.& they got the cyanide pill. But it was expensive. And dogs, and pigs would take it if oportunity happened, like in their reach or dropped out of teh bait bags stapled up high. I think cats did too. Was 25 years ago, dementia.... For PR for farmers without pets we used it,& got good feedback. It wasn't particularly toxic for cows, one got about 10 bags (not cyanide ones) so probably 300g, the vet told us not to panic & she seemed to like it. Wasn't an issue for milk contamination etc either.
@johnmead8437
@johnmead8437 Жыл бұрын
@@PestInterceptors Not up with current research, but the widespread field use (probably 50kg in a couple of months) showed D3 took its time, and curing non-target mistakes was prolonged intensive care, if it was successful. This was when it first became available here, improvements may have been made. Its expense made its use at scale unattractive. The anticoagulant alternatives had the secondary poisoning issues. The science has now shifted from considering 1080 a poor rat poison to using it at scale for eradication attempts (google ZIP New Zealand). This stuff wouldn't be acceptable for standard pest control, it's good away from mammals & has a lot of rubbish directed at it, but it slays scavenging dogs & having idiots anywhere near it is a real risk, it's deadly with no antidote. That counts out about 50% of humans....

I'd pop a few traps in looking like they were the business and just leave them (they were in blind holes) ha ha ha ha boss never knew. . . . If the mole came out of the rough/long grass and onto a fairway, green bank or tee . . . I would then put traps in "properly" and that's that. . . a lot of times the rough grass grew up to obscure the mole hills and he was non the wiser. It wasn't pulled down, because the rod was push upstream. If you have metal drain rods, and a hook fitting - you can push it upstream also, hook the rod, and simply pull it out (I owned a drainage company for over 20 years). Also.... most septic tanks lead to soakaways, and they most certainly do not have drains running for miles.

Rats and mice have always been my phobia and I am just about to purchase my first house (always lived up high in apartments prior) and am very conscious of this particular subject. Also, something I will not be installing is garden decking. Although it can be both attractive and practical, it has got to be one of the biggest attractions for nesting rats/mice. Something I would not install for the sake of minimising the issue. Overall though, the ways you have shown in this video how they can enter the house from outside, it seems an impossible and endless task of totally eradicating them.

When there is very little free food for the rats you can use rat traps in bait stations. Also try to track where the rats are coming from, there is nearly always a sewer/drain problem somewhere. @@PestInterceptors I was wondering what rats would do in a "coffin shop" but I guess you meant coffee shop, and I think they might consume some spacecake if they can get it, but jokes aside, there are rats in every neighbourhood in Amsterdam, but because of trashbins which are on stainless steel poles, and the possibility of disposing garbage underground 24/7 people dont have to keep their garbage on balconies, the numbers are far lo9wer than what I've seen in videos about rats in new york which is quite disgusting. Anyway we allso have lots of herons in the city as well as buzzards, so when rats eat too much that they become obese and slow they risk to become dinner. I think outside the city center with the red light district most people don't really mind the occasional rat. Biggest problem is that they make burrows under the sidewalks and cousing the tiles to become uneven. If there is a pest in my neighbourhood it is mice, and the terrible noise they make at night. But even mice leave the house if you dont feed them.

The Rat Flap is the best invention. No need to kill the poor critters. Just cut them off at the pass. If you have Rats in your attic or house the drains/sewers in the first place to investigate. Some Pest Control companies won't even fit them. Far easier for them to keep coming out laying traps and/or poison. You can then provide them with an ongoing revenue stream. And yes I am speaking from experience.

The flap is only as good as the knowledge of the person fitting it though. We go out to houses with 20 year rat problems with flaps fitted everywhere. In fact we have a video coming out in the near future where we show the flaps and the suggested £6000 further work they needed to do as the flaps hadn’t worked. I think you’ll enjoy that video. I live rural in Texas and I truly suffer with the infernal creatures. Over the past 2 years I've gone through 30 pounds of farm grade rat poison,lost a dozen traps to big ones carrying them off. My dogs and cat are expert rat killers.I've destroyed nesting areas in my yard and sealed chew holes in the walls as they appear. They've literally eaten through my walls. I feel so defeated. Everytime I think I've got them gone...a new more indestructible generation shows up. All I can figure is until the surrounding neighbors (a dozen or so clumped up old mobile homes all the way around me) deal with their end of it, I'll just be plagued. Nothing works anymore.

@MsMom, I live in rural Australia. Your problem was my nightmare too. The destruction these rodents cause is devastating & costly. I too have used everything I heard of or advertised, only to throw heaps of food & other items on a constant basis. A very old neighbour suggested I mix cornmeal & soda bicarb together, & throw in just abit of sugar, of course I didn't try it as I had spent so much money on poisons, etc & this seemed to 'basic' Frustration with the stinky rats/mice made me try, less than 3 weeks 🤞, they almost but disappeared. This mix is safe on all other animals including birds & is cheap. Rats/mice can't burp/fart, the soda causes them to bloat to death. I've cleaned up any places around/in the house of hiding spots, no food left opened, etc Chicken feed is placed in galvanised feeders, no rodents can get to it & no scraps left on ground. I'm not sure the result for others, but this plain, basic mix has been literally a life saver for us,. Anyone who has had to 'live' with these dirty rodents, you have nothing to lose, give it a go 👍

Then use traps. Most domestic cats won't eat bait and would likely need to eat a fair few rats / mice to get a dose of secondary poisoning. Go check the LD50 and you'll see that rodenticide is not as lethal to cats as a cat would have to eat a GREAT deal more than a couple of rats. Hi Guys, I have rat holes in the garden, can I just fill the holes in with gravel?
@PestInterceptors
@PestInterceptors 3 ай бұрын
It depends. @goobydingbat1027 Are the rats going in from above ground or are they coming up from the sewer below. If they are coming from the sewer you will fill the sewer with gravel and then cause a blockage and it will cause a build up of poop which is food for more rats. So the thing to do is fill the holes loosely with paper and then fill over the paper with soil. When the holes reappear, is the soil and paper on top of the surface? Or has it just disappeared down the hole. If it’s just disappearing down the hole then the rats are coming from below ground, usually the sewer or drain.

I have expensive cars they've been outsmarting me with every single trap bait, etc., hard to put poison because my stupid dog will eat it everything that I put non-poison the dogs will eat it so not only does the rats out smart me so my dogs so my question I have I found a few Burroughs a few nesting in my vehicles. what do you recommend doing and you've mentioned in one of your videos chemical that gets rid of the scent so maybe I could spray that along and around my vehicles there is no company in the United States. What are your preferred baits to attract rats? Are any lollies particularly effective? A peanut butter recipe seems to work on R rattus but any other ideas would be helpful.

Anything aniseed or liquorice flavour. Peanut butter is always a a good thing too. Mice and rats can sense the oil, calories, sugar content of foods believe it or not. So winter they choose higher calorie foods too.

@@johnmead8437 The best bait for stoats is fresh rabbit, with salted rabbit a close second. I've trapped stoats using freshly killed rodents, when using my Trapinator tunnels, which contain either DOC 150 or 200 traps. Unlike rats, stoats are fussy scavengers, so remove the rodents before they start to rot (tongs work well for this unpleasant task). Because they can't store body fat, stoats are very attracted to fatty baits. I use chunks of white fat from chops or steaks, the white fat from bacon grease or roasts (placed inside a small tin), or slices of cooked sausage. I typically use cooked baits, because they take longer to spoil in warm/weather, and they take longer to go moldy in winter, because they contain less moisture. Eggs are a good bait, because they are an effective visual lure (especially white ones) and a natural food source. You can leave eggs intact or break the shell so that stoats can smell the yolk. Egg mayonnaise is an effective general carnivore and omnivore bait. Fatty meats, eggs, and mayo are all very attractive to hedgehogs, so bear that in mind. You may have to place your traps in special sites that hedgehogs can't access. Stoats are excellent climbers and leapers, though, so they shouldn't have trouble reaching your traps. If you kill a stoat, place the body in the rear of a Trapinator tunnel. They're very territorial outside of mating season, so the odds are high that they'll investigate the sight and smell of another stoat. Like rodents, don't leave the body to rot. Stoats are even more cautious than brown rats, so wearing gloves is crucial when handling your tunnels, traps, and baits. Good luck trapping!

Filling two holes in the concrete under fence posts will not get rid of rats. The rats will always be there. Rats can climb over fences and even enter a house through an inside house toilet bowl. Life time guaranteed no more rats 😂🚽😉🤔

Can i ask a sincere question? And do you welcome feedback at all? I'm a new subscriber to the channel and thoroughly enjoying watching your videos on pest control. You obviously possess a veritable trove of knowledge with regards to the craft. And you are obviously confident in your methods and techniques by the guarantee you offer. I've picked up on a couple of things though and would be interested to get your feedback on it if that's ok? You seem quite confrontational in disposition, and often make remarks about the knowledge and experience you've acquired over the years. Do you deal with a lot of negative comments and trolls on this platform? I understand that pest control is probably one area where you get bombarded with ignorant comments. Unfortunately this industry intersects with modern trends around environmentalism, veganism and the usual moral sanctimony that odious people like to parrot because they think it makes them a good person. So any humane dispatching of pests is met with ridiculous outcry. Has that had an effect on your channel and subsequently shortened your patience with people? I just wanted to find out if that was the case because i really enjoy the content. Many thanks

We don’t suffer fools gladly. Why should we? As for the environmentalist and vegans, we hate needless damage to the environment, we also hate those who go around killing for killings sake; and both are illegal to do as a business anyway in the UK. We are the only company in the uk, probably the world, who offer a guaranteed rat riddance service that is vegan friendly. We do this because we can and we have the skills to do it. Christan is as from being vegan as you could get as he lives as a carnivore for months on end, but he supports other people’s choices and loves animals very much indeed. The only bad feedback we get is from other pest control people who can’t do what we do or don’t understand why we do what we do and couldn’t do it even if they wanted to. Is this reply confrontational in your opinion? The only reason we ask is because some people get confused between other people’s being confident in their abilities and beliefs, and somehow find it offensive just because they don’t have the same ability or skill sets.
