This is the best exclusion video I have seen. And I've seen a lot. My home was built in early 80's & my roof has angles like was shown here. It's a huge relief knowing I CAN block all entry points. I hired a pest control who said I couldn't do anything about them getting into my attic. They missed a hole chewed through metal that was used to mount the dryer vent. Actually they did not cover any holes on the outside, only stuffed a small amount of wire mesh down around the pipes that supply water to my laundry room. I knew nothing about exclusion & I am terrified of rats & mice. I will not ever hire anyone who is just going to take my 💸 & cost me way more in the future. If you want a good job done you must do it yourself. I was never taught diy growing up. As a female it's been hard but I have learned & made mistakes along the way. You don't understand just how much your video has helped me. I just want to cry. I never thought I would have a rodent infestation & have never gone through something as horrible as this in my life. Ty so much for taking the time to do this video 💕💕

What would you use to seal these entry points off?

Steel wool and then spray foam does a great job. The steel wool will prevent rodents from chewing through

Thanks for commenting on our tutorial. If you're a local Floridian, we would love to help you. If you wish to DIY to the best of your ability, you want to use FWC certified materials. Concrete for roof angles works best, do NOT use Foam in any case, anything with teeth and claws will tear through foam easy. Hope this helped

My girlfriend caught 10 rats in a 1990 home. In the flashing part of her roof the rats were able to get into the attic and into the walls. She had a pest control come in find entry points from the roof and the pest control sealed them with spray hardening foam (I did the same at my mom's home but overtime rats will knaw out the foam and I had to spray again. The pest control then set traps and vacuumed the rat droppings, which can be toxic. The whole process cost her $1,000.00. Rats can come from other nieghbors who can't afford pest control or if living near a restaurant or grocery store they can travel to a residential neighborhood. The rats in are area are huge. If you own a home its another added expense.
