Thanks! 5k to me is amazing, I suppose maybe we are doing something good here at the VVG and plan to keep with the plan and see how far it goes.

I wouldn't have thought to do the doors. But another couple of areas to mention are are around the gas tank and fill tube, the vent tubes and at the bottom of the rear quarters between the rear quarters and the drop-offs. Another place no one thinks about is the bottom edge of the pinch weld seam where the outer rocker meets the inner rocker or the floor pan, depending on the manufacturing process. That of course could lead into seam sealing all the braces under the floor. Those things catch dirt and salt long after you'd think spring rains have washed it all into the lakes and rivers where our freshwater sport fish can gag on it. Thanks for your thoughtful video.

Definitely all good points. Seam sealing is a matter of preference too much and the car turns into a bathtub and the water won’t drain out. Then the flip side it helps keep not out just the same. 🤷‍♂️

I like the minimalist approach to the application - it's never dawned on me to use it that way - always followed the factory "glob" method. This makes more sense - great tips as always John!

Factory globs i suppose it worked and heck I have seen it survive for over 50 years so it can be all bad. I like the cleaner look maybe not as durable but i also don’t foresee this car seeing the harsh weather any longer too.

I think the VVG way is a much better approach, especially on the firewall. Mine looks like a blind man attacked it with a mop soaking in it. BTW Jon, big Congrats on hitting 5K.

Really like this way of seam sealing. Our car looks like the factory used a mop to put it on. Congratulations on hitting 5k subscribers👍. I’m sure there’s many more to come. Thanks for taking the time to put this content out.

What is sprayed inside those doors?
@VinylVillageGarage
@VinylVillageGarage Жыл бұрын
It’s a spray in sound deadner. For noise and insulation. I used lizard skin brand on the entire floor as well.

The purple sealer has a sour taste, A painter told me there was a difference with the different colors of tape the adhesive is different for different purpose now he was also a house painter so who knows.

The green tape is supposed to be low stick but it is more like no stick. Lesson learned. 🤷‍♂️
