Yes but up until recently, there was no one to do so and now, I don't hear many sensible suggestions about Who we replace him with? We are still not a particularly enticing prospect for someone of quality. Until we start to see some investment and returns from the stadium, PSR will hamper a quick rebuild. He has kept us up twice, in part because the gap in quality between the two leagues is widening. He kept us up with half a season, starting lower down and with no fit striker. The reason Dom is even fit is because Dyche gave him time to recover when others had rushed him back because, through no fault of his own, we had no one else. And we have consistently sold the people who could supply him with the ammunition to score and replaced them, due to the mismanagement of the club, with players of lesser quality. Digne>Mykolenko - just one example. We've seen that with players of quality around him, he can be effective. He may not be a 20 goal a season striker (he started as a midfielder), but he is easily 15.

He never has any service. His 1 on 1 finishing is poor (he started as a midfielder) but, we've seen, with players who can create the opportunities, he can be effective. @DannyOConnor199117 күн бұрын
Against Bournemouth, Broja had 1 shot off target and DCL had 0 shots at goal. Strikers can't score if they don't get to take shots. It's not complicated. And that's entirely on the manager with his dreadful tactics and team selections. Clueless punditry...
@stuartrowland481817 күн бұрын
We had 9 shots in total, not 1, on target. How is that on Dyche? The tactics (and Pickford) stop us getting battered. We literally have just the three fit midfielders at the minute, two of which are 30+ Our squad has no depth. We just have to play the cards we have. We have sold any player that could create real opportunities (mostly through necessity) and we can't/don't play to Dom's strengths. Given the service he can score the necessary goals, he is never going to be prolific, but even without his goals his hold up play alone is better than the others. We have so little creativity anymore and our set pieces without McNeil are poor. IF we can score first though, we can defend the lead. He has kept us up twice. Once with less games to go, lower in the table and without a striker.
@DannyOConnor199116 күн бұрын
@@stuartrowland4818 "The tactics (and Pickford) stop us getting battered." So, when we defend well, it's praise for the manager. Yet when we fail to do anything in attack due to the tactics, that's on the players only and not Dyche's fault? Bit of a contradiction if you ask me. And imo, Pickford kept us up. Not Lampard or Dyche. And it's a poor indictment of the tactics when Pickford is getting peppered every week. It means the tactics aren't working. And we won't stay in the league by simply drawing games 0-0. But yeah, obviously it's on Dyche because the team has no game plan for winning the game. Regardless of player ability and performance. Though clearly, the players performance matters. I mean, can you even tell me what our game plan is? Nobody seems to know. Not even the players (since Dyche keeps saying they aren't following instructions. I.e. Him throwing them under the bus... Again) We have 4 midfielders fit, as it seems you forgot Armstrong came on the pitch. And we can also change formation to not need 3 midfielders. We could try 5 at the back. We could try 2 up front. You're making the assumption that this formation is the only one we can play. Which is exactly what Dyche does. We have sold players and do miss McNeil for set pieces. However, we don't even do well for the striker even when he's available. All we do is lump it up the pitch. It's Sunday League tactics in the PL. It's not wrong for Evertonians to expect better. Also, I'm not sure why you brought up 9 shots in total in the first place. I was talking about the strikers shots (as they're supposed to be the ones scoring). Though overall, most of our shots are from nothing positions. If anything, the long shot by Doucoure at the end of the game was our best shot. And it would have took a screamer to score from there. Hardly a good chance. Either way, imo we should be trying different things/player selections. Not just the same lump it football and expecting different results. It's shocking. Ipswich don't play that way, and half their squad was playing in League One. So stop pretending this squad is awful when it isn't. Moyes alone would get more from this team. Never mind better managers. But question. Do you want Dyche to stay at Everton beyond this season? That's literally all I want to know tbh.

Firstly where was the “CLASH”? Dyche has a habit of getting a result just when he needs it, i.e the draws against City, Chelsea & Arsenal which tends to give him a stay of execution. That said we could have easily won two of those games given the chances we had, but that’s the problem we just don’t convert the chances we create partly because the players are not good enough and partly because of the manager. Dom has never been prolific but if you don’t cross the ball in he isn’t going to score goals, it’s not rocket science. The manager did a good job last season there’s no doubt about that but the players and fans have been drained by the team being set up not to get beat. Ipswich and Wolves both have creativity in their side, it’s going to be difficult for us to hold them at bay without winning games which we just can’t do at the minute. Also it’s about time we held Thelwell accountable as well, the man’s made some terrible signings albeit with one hand tied behind his back.

He won't be the man to take them forward after the summer and he knows it, so do many of the players who won't be there because of contracts, loans etc....he has no drive to change the mood at the club.

Get him out of the football club now...yes he saved us....yes hes had no money and had to work in a horrible set up......just watch the football were playing....home and away every weekend spending me money on that shite....BOYCOTTING GOODISON TILL THE MAN IS GONE

McNeill has been out,he has been one of the playmakers, others out of form, no other manager who comes in would do a better job with the current players, Bournemouth are a little club who have been run consistently well over the past number of years, they have a stronger younger squad, that's the bottom line, Forest have also been better run club,the fickle shortsighted fans need to get off the managers back, and give him the support he needs to keep Everton in the top flight,changes and better players can be brought in once safety has been achieved, anything else is just a unnecessary gamble.

We've had numerous managers and not gone down. We need a manager who's going to move the club forward it's as simple as that.

Managers don’t move the club forward without goal scorers and creative players. Recruitment got us in this mess and it’s the only way out of it too

@@theblues8840ancelotti had us in 2nd at the halfway point of the season. This same team went on a run last year after the points deduction. Managers do move clubs forward look what klopp did and pep and arteta have all done and I agree with needing better recruitment but a manager can make a huge difference. What players are going to want to play or sign for dyche?

@@theblues8840 slot went to Liverpool and made Liverpool the best team in the country and Europe at the minute without having to but anyone. The exact same team as what klopp struggled with last year, managers make a huge difference I promise.

They'll probably be relegated if he gets the sack. He's getting what he can out of a group of poor players. He signed some of those players but I bet he'd of bought better if everton could afford to.

Your not going to win matches sat in your own half..however good or bad Lewin is, he can’t beat a back 4 on his own. Dyche worked wonders last season but we’ve gone backwards. UTFT

Midfield..its been Midfield for years ! Who produces and fights in the middle? I was looking forward to tim irob..(whatever his name is😂...) ..was great pre season, got injured! How fukin long does it take these young fit lads to get back on a football pitch? It's pathetic. ..its not just dyche, the players are clueless!

We need to keep Dyche and his backroom staff . Certainly until the end of the season . This a bad time to change management . Battle on to the end of the season . We have sold our best players . We need better players in January . Dyche can go in the summer.
