I think the craziest part of Hot Ones, is that Sean asks the most in depth, deep, and intelligent questions of any interview show there is. They dig deep, to learn everything they can about their guests, and don't just ask them the generic same set of questions over and over.

It causes a certain irony when he appears on other shows, and it's clear those interviewers know him nowhere near as well as he's known his own past guests and their bodies of work. I get that they have too many guests for that to be feasible, but the difference is stark. Hot Ones is the only celebrity interview show I've ever found interesting, because you actually get to see the real people underlying the facades. @stepheng95935 ай бұрын
This interview just helped me realize that Sean Evans has started to change the game for mainstream media interviewing as a whole. Hoda asked him about his first job as a tour guide years ago. That’s the exact type of question that Sean asks people:) All these interviewers are seeing the value of deep, thoughtful, well researched questions from hot ones and are taking notes. It’s a beautiful thing for the industry to honor the guest and it increases the viewership experience. Years ago Tori Kelly was interviewed on Sway in the morning. One of the hosts started commenting about her music and then said “I’ve only listened to two songs”. Kelly made a nice, gentle zinger back to him about listening more to her music before making a judgment call. Sean Evan’s probably spends 40 hours researching and crafting questions for a single guest. I do think 10 years from now the average mainstream interviewer will have at least moderately improved questions based on Sean’s influence!!
@colemansinclair25235 ай бұрын
I think Sean has referenced him before, but canadian interviewer Nardwaur always got crazy reactions by knowing so much about each guest and asking questions they never usually got when doing interviews. He can deep dive into a guest's past, ask an oddball question, talk about family, or chat about their guest's early song/album/sports team/book/acting career/job. Only Narduwar can compare and he is the O.G. deep dive interviewer. Sean is the next best. Also I wish that Sean would talk about how the hot sauce causes the guest to drop their guard or safety net and how it can help get the truth out by forcing their brain to concentrate on the question and not the heat level, and how the hot sauce can make the person feel drunk or high.

One of the main reasons it has lasted 10 years, besides all of us waiting for Da Bomb reactions, is the great researching job Sean does and his enjoyable personality. How many times have we heard, "How did you know about that?" And Dr Arroyo saved Conan!🤣

I love Sean, he is also one of the best interviewers there is, many of his guest have commented on that also.

10 years of his show and he still comes off as a the most down to earth easy going talk show host. Genuine approachable vibes, it’s not that common.
