It's actually not sad. He doesn't need others to monetize any of his music because he doesn't need any. So he purely does this for love, not for any music industries. He got all these top artists as his friends hanging out with him.

I’m talking about the fact that everywhere he goes, everything he does, people hold him up to the expectation of his father in terms of quality of music. It doesn’t exist on KZbin anymore I’ve looked and looked and looked for it everywhere but he was once interviewed by a fat Saudi Arabian guy in dubai or something and the interviewer kept asking questions and bringing up John Lennon and Sean replied “I mean Idunno I didn’t know this interview was gonna be about my dad” And the guy goes “oh no no so sorry” And Sean says “really? Cause the last 20 questions have been about my dad” And right before he goes silent and eventually walks out of the interview he mumbles “this is why it took me years to write more music”. After he says this in the interview, he goes silent, so does the interviewer and he just walks away. He’s plagued by expectations from people wanting him to be like John and it’s affected him so heavily. He doesn’t ever need to do anything for work. I’m sure he inherited tons

He is totally himself and rates just as much respect and awe for his talent and music as his father and mother do. He has both their talent. I got to meet him for my birthday years ago, he loved my purple hair, lol. He is dashing, sweet and gracious and I can't imagine John Lennon nor Yoko Ono could possibly be prouder of Sean and his music. I know I am amazed by it. Just listening to him can make my day. Sean Lennon is an amazing musician and a great singer/songwriter. Yes, I believe it's in his blood but he is the one who took that natural talent and made something impressive out of it- over and over again. I don't think there are many sons of musical icons at the same level as Sean's father (uhm, well close to THAT level) who are really as talented as Sean, or even Julian. I think it's kind of amazing.

I really like his finger picking ability.. and he's a good singer. He sounds a lot like his father. It's kind of stupid not to compare the two by the way.. they share about as many genes as two people could.. and their work sounds quite similar as little of his as I've heard. Though that's not to say I don't like what I've heard.
