Marks has done a great job. He took over the team when we had no picks. The harden trade maybe was a bad idea, but we could have definitely won a ring if those Injuries didn't happen..just give him some time. We've had much worse gms

Gonna be a tough season maybe a few tough seasons but that will build us for the future and at that end of a tough stretch I see the first title in Franchise History it will come soon hopefully by the end of the decade 🤞

I’ve been hard on Marks, but I gotta hand it to him for pulling the trigger and deciding to build the team from the ground up. To turn KD and Mikal into as many picks as he got and to get our picks back is gets no complaints from me

Props, kudos to Sean Marks, he quickly resurrected the Nets from the KG, Pierce...debacle. He built a culture that lured KD...unfortunately Kyrie and horrifically DeAndre Jordan as well. He pulled the trigger for Harden which was a super tease. However, these three mercurial personalities would have put God through it. Valuable lessonsn learned; "character counts" and "counts". To fix it, he plucked a solid citizen, a desired player in Mr. Bridges, (the young man was raised right) got a boatload of picks for getting rid of Kyrie and KD which he used to get Brooklyn set for 2025. At the trade deadline, he has solid players Bogan, Cam J, DFS as trade capital and potentially a serious cruise missile in Ben Simmons. If Simmons plays well, note, he is in a contract year which will dictate his financial destiny, if he plays very well, a playoff team may offer a first-rounder for him; if not he is off the books, bye...

Marks from firing Atkinson up until hiring Jordi might be the worst 4 years in the history of the nba for a GM. Since hiring Jordi, he’s been money. Those two trades he just made are organization changing.

Pretty easy to believe lol. Over 2/3s of the league would have done the same mistake he did if they had the opportunity at the time to make those same choices. Outside of that hes been good, rebuilt the team with scraps, and just traded a high quality role player for five 1sts + two of their picks back in another trade.

Eh, unless you’re Joe Tsai’s accountant, I find it hard to fault GMs for hiring/firing coaches. Steve Nash has the highest winning percentage of any Nets coach; if Kyrie didn’t turn an ankle, he might be considered a genius. For a few games, it was universally acknowledged that he was out-coaching Budenholzer. NBA coaching is a total crapshoot: In pure X’s and O’s, Brad Stevens > Ime Udoka > Joe Mazzulla and Rick Carlisle > Jason Kidd. Marks’ worst move was trading James Harden under duress; he should’ve called the bluff or at least acquired some intelligence on Simmons. Was Harden really going to enter free agency after refusing to suit up in the playoffs? It took Daryl Morey to stare down the monster he created.
