O'Malley is definitely a smart dude, he fought unranked opponents and collected highlights with a bonus everytime he won a fight and didn't want to climb up the ranks to fight ranked guys for the same amount of money. So basically he honed his skills, gained alot of confidence from crushing cans and now he's in a spot to negotiate a better prize money. He's even allowed to have his own pink shorts, that's a privilege and a sign of his position. You see alot of ppl complain about fighters pay and here's this dude who nuked all the cans to collect every bonus he can get only to make more at the end because he build himself up and did not speedrun to a title. I can't say that I'm a fan of this guy, but he's def smart and a good fighter. May the better fighter win.

Right off the jump DC is shilling, he tried to compared O'malley's run where he was allowed to crush cans for 3-4 years in high profile spots on cards, to other prospects who lost recently (Pyfer), the difference there is they're making guys like Pyfer fight REAL OPPONENTS earlier in their run. O'malley didn't take a ranked fight until 4 years into the UFC. None of these other guys are getting to set their own pace and take all the time in the world to build themselves up on handpicked opponents.
