CORE’s Co-founders, Sean Penn and Ann Lee, sit down with Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN’s Heroes Salute to discuss the origins and operations of CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), and the heroic efforts of its community-based staff and volunteers.
CORE began in the aftermath of the 2010 Haiti earthquake and has since evolved to become an international relief organization responding to crises all over the globe. From COVID-19 to devastating hurricanes in the Caribbean, to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, CORE has mobilized communities and saved lives in response to some of the world’s most urgent crises.
