The original "Winnie the pooh" story by Milne was published in England in 1926. Traver's "Mary Poppins" was published a few years after that. Both fit the Crystal Palace location. Pooh and friends are not just film characters they were once the very real stuffed animals of an English Boy. They are on display at New York Public Library. My family loved seeing pooh and friends at the crystal palace. Great show guys, nice pics by sean!

@Sean - nice to know I'm not the only grown man who feels nostalgic about Winnie the Pooh. Your choices seem thoughtful and like places I want to try. Good luck as an agent.

Good picks, Sean. I wasn't expecting much from this show when it saw it was Sean's picks because of past shows, but I was pleasantly surprised. Nice picks and he had good reasons for his choices.

bbkangs I was thinking the same exact thing. But I'll call it like it is, he did good with his picks. But I still wouldn't want him on the dining. I think he should join John and Kevin on the Dreams Unlimited show now that he's a licensed agent.

Good idea, GQMofo. He would be a good fit on the Dreams show now that he's an agent. i have nothing against Sean as a person, but I'm not sure he's' right for a food review show since there are more foods he doesn't eat than he does eat. And Kevin, John, and Sean all have a sarcastic sense of humor (which I think is funny).

Nice picks, Sean! Unfortunately, you won't ever see the Fab 5 at Crystal Palace because they're at Chef Mickey's, but I agree a more eclectic group of characters would better suit Crystal Palace. My one and only choice at Hollywood Studios is 50s Primetime Cafe. It's one of my faves!
@chamonix97
@chamonix97 6 жыл бұрын
I think what they could do with the Crystal Palace in my opinion. is ether, A. Do a seasonal character dining thing like Hollywood and Vine does. NOT WITH THE FAB 5! But with various kinds of characters. B. Do what they do with the Plaza Inn at Disneyland, have a mixed group of characters, some you'd see on a normal and a couple or so rare characters.

I have to throw Paradisio 37 in the mix. My family tried it 3 years ago and it has become our go to. Daughter loves the dip trio app and having been 7 times in last 3 years have yet to have anything but great food and terrific service. One of the few places I go out of my way to over tip.

Sean gave really clear reasons for his choices. He obviously has broader tastes than some of his earlier comments led me to believe. Good episode.
@jershumuyo2734
@jershumuyo2734 6 жыл бұрын
I disagree. His choices were more varied than I thought they'd be. But, all his choices were relatively "safe". Buffet, comfort food, orange chicken (which is probably the safest/basic thing you can get in American-Chinese food), etc. The only shocker is that he apparently will eat sushi. He did pick good ones! But I don't think with the exception that he'll eat sushi at California Grill showed that his picks were very broad.
@mischiefmanaged5757
@mischiefmanaged5757 6 жыл бұрын
Jershu Muyo I agree they are not especially broad in comparison to others who have completed their 'pick six', but I was pleasantly surprised as Sean has often made comments in other shows that made me believe he was the plainest, least adventurous eater on the planet and this show tells me that isn't quite the case.
@jershumuyo2734
@jershumuyo2734 6 жыл бұрын
I think Sean is a nice guy at least how he shows himself in the videos. I think he's a small town country guy that wasn't exposed to a lot in his formative years, and that is a hard upbringing to crack for some people. I agree especially in a food vlog he comes across pretty plain. I personally think he probably isn't the best fit for this particular segment. But, since he showed there are things that will get him out of his shell (like meeting Pooh), maybe he would be a better fit for some of the other actual park/attraction segments. Food/Dining experiences don't really seem to excite him but seems like unique experiences will. So maybe their segments about the park or even the resorts.
@mischiefmanaged5757
@mischiefmanaged5757 6 жыл бұрын
Jershu Muyo I agree. I commented on a previous dining show episode that I didn't think Sean was the best fit for it. You really need people who will give most things a try but can also say what is available for special diets, plainer eaters etc. I think Sean would be good in park vlogs, especially now he is a Dreams agent.

Wasn’t sure about Sean’s picks before watching. But I have to say I agree about Crystal Palace. We go there for breakfast but we definitely go for Pooh & His friends. I agree with Steve, it is weird that the characters are at the MK. A Pooh Bear and friends character meal would be great in the U.K. I also agree with some of his other choices- which was a huge surprise to me.

Epcot: Rose & Crown Dining Room Animal Kingdom: Would love to try Tiffins. Haven't really ate anything other than quick service there. Resort Restaurant: 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridan Disney Springs: Boathouse

I had such a horrible experience at the Crystal Palace for my twin sons' 3 yr old bday. We went for lunch and everything tasted either old & stale or just plain bland and not good. I felt embarrassed because I planned on going there and no one at our table wanted to say anything until finally my mom was like "is anyone going to say how horrible this is?". We all laughed because it was so true. The waiter had a bad attitude and we were so nice & and didn't even complain since it was supposed to be a happy bday. I wouldn't go back there even if I was paid to go back. Never had such a bad Disney dining experience. Surprised to see this place on someone's favorites list! Anyways great video! P.S. We went last November.

Original Crystal Palace was in England, and Winnie the Pooh etc. being from a book by a British author, I expect that's the connection. And since Mary Poppins has a place over at the GF, and since the Pooh characters are arguably more generally popular than Mary, especially with the 'little kid' set, it makes sense to give them a meal place in the park...

I'm glad to see some love for Orange Chicken. The zest kicks it up a bit. Brown Derby is one of my favorites. I would choose Narcoossee's over California Grill. Food is fantastic and clientele seems a bit more adult. My last experience at CG was terrible, with feral children and worse parents (food was good, though).

Why are people so obsessed with the hot dog comment? My husband hates hot dogs with a passion, but loves so many other types of food! Just because he doesn’t like your favorite food, does NOT mean his opinion isn’t credible. I think Sean is a great addition to the team and I love his laid-back attitude. It’s clear he’s knowledgeable, so give the guy a break! Good show!

Kimberly Phifer I agree - his point of view balances the more adventurous eaters of the group which is valuable for most groups going to Disney... I’m pretty sure we almost all have our own ‘safe’ eaters when traveling as a group
@jershumuyo2734
@jershumuyo2734 6 жыл бұрын
There's many reasons. But I'll just state the most obvious. To be a really effective asset to a foodie vlog.. you kinda have to be a foodie and Sean is not. (which is totally ok a lotta people just see food as food and don't care about the little stuff). Yes he represents "that picky eater" of the group but he really doesn't help either. Sean has his own picky quirks and well lets face it most picky eaters are more prone to want hot dogs etc. A picky eater doesn't really need to be represented for that reason... since they have unique needs all you can really do is plan ahead and look at all the menus to find places your picky eater will eat. Sean might like comfort food and chicken tenders and go to Hoop-dee-doo but he doesn't care if the food touches on his plate. Do we need representation of the picky eater who has to have compartments for each food item? (the answer is no).

Beyond the hot dog comment, there was an episode, I forget which one, where they were talking about World Showcase and Sean was like, "Eh, I don't really care about culture and I'm not coming on vacation to learn about cultures" and idk, just sounded kind of ignorant to me. Never really cared for him after that.

Like these choices, but has anyone tried Victoria and Albert’s? If there’s been a review then I definitely missed it, but I’d be interested to know what the guys think of v&a. Sean did a really good job for the most part. I know from the jump that he'll have some different opinions than I do, but that's okay. I like hearing that on a show like this. I may need to give Crystal Palace another try, because the one time I ate there I was not impressed. I will not be trying Lotus Blossom Cafe again, though. That may be the worst Chinese food I've ever had, and I like all different levels of Chinese food. The egg rolls and fried rice at Yak & Yeti in the Animal Kingdom are much much better. For me at the Magic Kingdom I would pick Sleepy Hollow and recommend the chicken and waffle sandwich. I like Be Our Guest better than the Dis crowd so it would be my 2nd choice there. Each meal I've had there has been better each time. At Epcot I would choose Restaurant Marrakesh where the lamb is delectable and the environment is entrancing. 2nd choice would be the fish & chips at the counter service spot in the UK pavilion. For Hollywood Studios I definitely agree that the Brown Derby is excellent with Mama Melrose a distant second food-wise. Both 50's Prime Time and Sci-Fi Dine-In have excellent theme, but only average food. Tiffins at animal Kingdom might be my favorite restaurant on property. Both times I've eaten there the service has been excellent and the food has been amazing! Second choice would be counter service Yak & Yeti. On my most recent trip I went to Disney Springs and experienced Raglan Road for the first time and had a great time and absolutely loved the scallops! I would go back in a heartbeat! Morimoto Asia was also very good. The Resorts restaurants are really hard to choose from, but I decided on Jiko where I had a wonderful seafood curry dish back in April. Both Flying Fish and 'Ohana are also excellent, for example. I have not yet been to California Grill, but I'm set to fix that this coming October! Can't wait!

Why is everyone harping on the hot dog thing? I don't like them myself. I only ate them for these 2 reasons 1. The family liked to grill and if it was hot dogs you ate it or went hungry 2. The restaurant chain in Cincinnati (there are a few in Florida i believe) skyline chili. I LOVE their coneys but probably would be just as happy if the hot dog wasn't in it. Skyline chili is so different then any orher chili. I note that because I won't eat just any chili dog just skylines. We all have our weird quirks. I never drank alcohol and Im 45ish. People offered to pay to watch me drink cause Im so off the wall as it is LOL. I turned them down. LOL

People are on about it because of one simple fact. Disclaimer I am not hating on him he seems like a nice guy. It's just the fact that for a show/segment that's focused on dining to be a good judge of what is good/not good. It's kind of a requirement to have a willingness to try new/different things. When a food critic/reviewer says they have never/refuse to eat a hot dog one of the staples/blandest things of American cuisine, does not lend to people that enjoy food to take their word as a good source. It goes beyond the hot dog because if he refuses to eat sausages, what else is he refusing to try? If I'm looking for good sushi for example I am not going to value or listen to the opinion of someone talking about it that refuses to eat it (or by extension much of any other Japanese food since sushi is a major staple).

Fido Montoya hot dogs yes ... Already mentioned I would eat them with skyline chili and thats it. There are a lot of common things that I haven't tried and just won't eat. Most items that are veggies. Cooked fruits. That inclues pie and cobblers such as apple, peach, strawberry etc. Most berries except strawberry. I have eaten those. I haven't eaten blue berry or black berry. I tried rasberry and dont like it. Alcoholic drinks. As an adult a hot dog is nasty LOL I refuse to try sushi I refuse to try most soda. Plain regular coke for me.

Crystal Place: Good food and great character interaction. For a buffet it wasn’t really bad food. It was lovely when we went for lunch and the Winnie the Pooh characters where great. However,it was Tiger’s first day back from a break so he wasn’t able to make it to or table. Epcot: I’ve never eaten at any of the places in China. I can’t really give my opinions. Hollywood studios: Never been to Brown Derby. I like 50’s prime time and Mama Melrose over there. Skip Hollywood and slime. It’s worthless. Sci-fi dinner is also pretty bad. Animal kingdom: I almost never go to this park so I don’t really remember restaurants there. I haven’t been there since like 2015. Disney Springs: I liked the Edison when we went. However the appetizers where much better than the main course. The theming is great to. Resort: I’ve never been to California grill. The hotels have the best restaurants and most have hidden gems.

Not going to lie...it feels like everyone but Steve is allowed to share their actual opinion on food places. I don’t buy that Mr. Never Eaten A Hot Dog is doing Brown Derby and Crystal Palace on the regular. In the beginning of Steve’s show it sounded like he had to re-tool his list to places he frequents instead of once in awhile favorites and Pete was disengaged for his. TBH the eye rolls at every turn for Mr. Faulk also make me legitimately hate when he’s on.

We don't do sit down dinners a lot at Disney because of time and cost. I did go to Crystal Palace and the food was just okay for me but I blame that on me. I'm very picky. What got me was Winnie the Pooh. The character was creepy. It made me feel uncomfortable. Not long after that there was a buzz about something the Winnie the Pooh cast member did. I can't remember the details but I wondered if it was the same cast member
