Poatan spoke on a podcast last year about why he first called Strickland to train When he was at 84kg he was having trouble finding a training partner who could handle the damage and pressure. No one was letting him get his rhythm going, they were falling too fast So he thought I'LL CALL THIS GUY HE SEEMS TO BE GOOD FOR SPARRING And Strickland really is. He has great stamina and is difficult to hit, he likes pressure, so Poatan saw in Strickland an ideal training partner.

Anything can happen in a fight of course. But this sort of reminds me of Derrick Lewis vs Daniel cormier. Punchers Chance...he's dangerous...blah..blah. I do take serious the acclimation to the altitude of the city. But that could affect rountree performance also.

Lion Heart is an old washed-up contender from yesteryear and is always getting taken out by most contenders. Altitude is a real thing. As a South American who witnessed superior teams getting obliterated against mediocre teams because of that. I can say it’s a real thing. The coach of my team had heart issues after a match in Bolivia. All the dude did was walk back and forth in the side of the field.

Yeah especially if going there fast, i once drove from the sea so sea level up to top of a island, then took a zipline to near highest peak which was 7500m above the sea. Damm i could feel every step up there was so draining it was insane. But to be expected if you are at sea level in the morning and up at ~7500m for lunch 😅

Sean has been quoted by Pereira as a great training partner. Other people couldn't hang in the ring, but Strickland has the gas tank, temperament, and physical resilience to let Pereira actually train. Most people don't have the gas and wilt under a few heavy shots. Look up them training together. They go long hard rounds.

Anything can happen in a fight. However I think there's a experience and punching power gap, and we're going to see it. There's no way rountree has Izzy's fight IQ, speed, timing or power to send Alex into a coma , like he did. And that was the prediction from chael. He's trying to hypothetical a fluke win with that altitude stuff .
