I live in Miami, and I had the pleasure of watching Sean Taylor play in high school. Actually, while he was in high school, I was a football referee. I remember officiating one of his games. He was so much better than everyone else on the field that is wasn't really fair. I remember he ran for a couple of scores, nearly took a punt to the house and had a Pick 6. He carried his team on his back and won the state championship scoring 44 TD's that season. I'm also a die hard Cane. Saw every one of his games. Of course, I followed him closely at Washington. He was the perfect football player. Had he not been taken from us so soon and tragically, I truly believe he would have been the best safety of all time. Ronnie Lott stands atop the list, but he played a ton of corner too. With all due respect to another Cane that I love, Ed Reed is a first ballot Hall of Famer, but Sean could do so much more. Reed is a ball hawk, but so was Taylor. Reed could take it to the house, but so could Taylor. Reed could hit you, but nobody could devastate and intimidate receivers like Sean Taylor. The best physical hitter from the secondary that has ever played. Such a shame that a couple of fuckheads had to murder him in his own home. Man I loved watching him play.

I watch this video almost every other day. Sean Taylor was just great man! It sucks that God had to call him home so early but God works in mysterious ways. All I know is that this man had God given ability and was probably one of the best ball-hawking, head hunting FS of the 2000's. Sean Taylor might be gone but his legacy still lives to this day. He had class, respected and loved the game, respected his players and others around the league, kept his ego at bay...He cleaned up his acts off the field, at 23 he started to turn his life around and really showed he had his priority's straight but sadly he was never meant to stay here...I always say to myself what if, then you watch a video like this and happy we got to see him play as long as he did...R.I.P Sean Taylor, never be forgotten...

jetshockey5 you pretty much took what I said out of context, I am well aware of the bullshit he created for himself and the "thuggish" behaviour he was portraying...After his daughter was born though and about a year before he died, I was merely saying he changed and began to take recourse for his actions....why I said what I said, I am not forgoing but that last year played you can see he was really turning the corner.... .

jetshockey5 but u can’t say he had no class. He was a great person and when he spit in the guys face in the playoff game, he just let his emotions get the best of him, that happens to everybody, but he did start to turn his life around tho. But he wasn’t a dirty player, he was a great leader and a great teammate

I am a die hard Atlanta Falcons fan. I'm also a die hard Georgia Bulldog fan. Please don't disrespect me, or the teams that I love, because this is not about neither of those two teams I just mentioned. I mentioned them to say, regardless of my loyalty to my home state teams, this is about the late Mr. Sean Taylor. I grew to love this young man's way of playing football. I also grew to love him posthumously as a man from watching his ESPN documentary. I don't think I've ever felt so much pain in seeing someone die that I've never met. I don't think I've ever continued to think about any player, like I occasionally think about Sean. Right now, I'm here on You Tube looking at this young man's highlight film, and getting excited at watching him absolutely maul opponents like few have ever done in the history of the NFL. He was a very quiet, introverted man off the field, but whenever it was game time this young man turned into an absolute beast, that any kid playing safety, or any other position should try to emulate. It's been almost 8 full years since he was killed so senselessly, yet his legacy has not, and will not ever fade away. This young man's Redskin's jersey is the only jersey from another NFL team that I will ever wear on my back. Not because I'm a Redskin's fan, but because I'm a Sean Taylor fan always and forever. Sean if you're looking down, and you're able to read this, I just want to say, the good die young. I hope you're smiling down from heaven, and you're truly missed by millions of football fans! Rest in peace young man, we love you, we miss you, and I hope that your beautiful daughter and your family have found a way to go on without you. #21 the best that ever played the position of safety, and one of the best defensive players ever. R.I.P.

Ronnie Juhan Lovely words Ronnie. I watched Sean from college and couldn't believe my luck that after seeing him there that he was coming to my Skins in the Draft. He would play football for fun not money and he loved it. His death like so many in history was senseless, it breaks my heart. I'm so glad that I read the book Going Full Speed, if you haven't read it, get yourself a copy, it will break your heart again. I love the game of football and if it meant Sean being able to live I'd even settle for him going to any other rival team just to be able to see him keep playing and get into the HOF. R.I.P Sean

There was just something else in Sean that you just didn't see in anybody else. He wanted to win more than anybody on the field every single time he stepped foot on the field. No matter what game or time in that game, if you played on the opposing team's offense, there was a good chance Sean Taylor was going to put you on the ground. Sean was the epitome of what it means to be a football player, putting your body on the line every play, no matter what the consequence, to get the job done. RIP ST

From a Canes alumnus and fan, great video man! I miss watching Sean play so bad! I've got to share one of his greatest plays from his Miami days that I haven't seen on any highlight videos or tributes. It was what Sean was all about...110% all the time. The U went up to play Tennessee at Neyland Stadium in front of 107k crazy Volunteer fans and that Rocky Top song. On one of the first few plays of the game, Tennessee had a long run or pass down the middle of the field and it looked like the guy would score for sure. But Sean chased him all the way across the field and tackled him on the 1 yard line. The Defense held Tennessee to a field goal and that was the only time we had to hear Rocky Top the whole day as the U went on to win 26-3!!!
