The only “bad” thing about this film is that it is filled with exposition. But let’s s be honest, it’s all interesting and needed

The film would not work if you don't explain the rules, and they're all necessary. You'd be watching a missfire otherwise.
@Robalexe
@Robalexe 4 жыл бұрын
@kavikiru kavikiru I don't know how they could even keep it a secret. And I don't think the audience would be able to piece it together without any information about it, not even the critics. There are still idiots who don't understand the movie even with exposition. There's a fine line between confusing in an interesting way and confusing in a frustrating way. It's easy to say it wasn't all needed after you've seen it, but when you think about it more, it would be a trainwreck to not know what the actual plot of the movie is. No one would be able to figure it out, that's why it is needed exposition. It would be confusing in a very bad way.
@lukaskonrad463

This is my favorite Chris Nolan film. It’s also one of my favorite films period. I absolutely love every minute of it. I also weirdly find it the most re-watchable of his films. It has some of his best action, writing, characters, and is just simply a mind blowing film that continues to inspire me more and more to become a filmmaker. I also think this is one of Hans Zimmer’s best scores. It’s tense, pulse pounding, and just brilliant in ways I cannot put into writing. I think it’s just the perfect action movie. The Dark Knight Trilogy has some problems in its action, but this movie perfects that aspect as well as all of the others. All in all, it is definitely my favorite Christopher Nolan film.

Hey, a Nolan review! Inception is one of my all time favorites. I recently got this on blu ray, and I still love it. The premise is so interesting, and the plot does so much justice to it. The characters are interesting in their own ways, and Cobb goes on a great journey. The visuals and the effects are so good, and the settings are interesting. This movie is a masterpiece, but it has some illogical moments. Overall, one of the best movies ever made. 10/10, go out and buy it and watch it.

Forgive me if I say something stupid, but I think a theme of this movie is regret and learning to let go. Cobb has the different floors of moments he regrets and always plays them over and over. The song 'Non, je ne regrette rien' translates to I regret nothing, which is what Cobb learns to do at the end, let go and regret nothing. He manages to finally move on and find peace.

I just watched this movie last night and it was crazy. It's complex and mind bending. It's such a creative idea. The ending with the spinning top still has me thinking and was one of the best endings in cinematic history. Words cannot discribe how amazing this movie was. The action was intense, the score was iconic, the cast was great, the visuals were stunning, and the world building is incredible. It's easy to understand. What an experience! The characters are interesting. Joseph Gordon Levitt and Leonardo DeCaprio give there best performances. I'm still mind blown and don't know how Nolan pulled off such an amazing film. Ioved this movie, I give it a 10/10!

Inception is without a doubt one of the best movies I have ever seen. While it was incredibly confusing the first time I watched it, each time I watched it after that, it makes a little more sense each time. The cast is absolutely amazing, the standouts are clearly Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, but Joesph Gordon Levitt and Ellen Paige are also great (they all are). This is the first Christopher Nolan movie I ever saw, and it inspired me to go watch his other movies. The story is absolutely amazing and even though there’s multiple stories to follow, it’s still exciting. I just recently showed this movie to my mum and my little brother (I think my mum only saw the final half to be honest), and they both really enjoyed it. For the 10 year anniversary, Inception has been brought back to cinemas in my country and just last Tuesday, my brother went to see this movie with his friends for his 13th birthday in cinemas, and I’m really hoping to do the same this weekend. It’s a fantastic movie and definitely one of my favorite movies of all time.

Inception is a movie on first viewing, I found it completely confusing although on 2nd viewing I found I actually enjoyed a lot more than the first time. I have watched over a dozen times since and there is always something new to find in it. Hans Zimmer score is simply amazing too and is used insync with the films mood. It's a very complex and interesting ambitious movie - it will be interesting to see how Nolan evolved this concept into Tenet 10 years after Inception.

The effects and cinematography are all fantastic and effective. The score is probably my favorite of the decade. That Mombasa theme is SO fantastic. Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan are a dynamic duo. The acting and characters are played to perfection, and the direction and script are simply phenomenal. One of my favorites. My #2 Nolan film. I do however agree that it’s dreams are a little too simple. I’d easily give it an A+

This is easily one of Christopher Nolan's best works, it's an existential film that is a psychological Thriller that is mesmerizing and entertaining to watch while at the same time it doesn't hold the hand of the audience because he knows that they're smart enough to figure all this stuff out on their own. Easily one of the best films of 2010 and of the decade. 95/100. A masterpiece.

@@geoffbrookswrestling So you call me idiotic and assume my taste and preference in movies and then have the nerve to say that I shouldn't be a jerk. You didn't answer how it changed filmmaking because Marvel is nothing like this, it's all CGI amd green screen. Inception while being a great film is 80% exposition and 0% characters. Yes Leo was better in Once upon a time in Hollywood because that role required actual acting skills. You seem like a guy who is so in love with Nolan you can't see the man has never created an interesting character that was originally his. Dunkirk was a techincal wonder but failed at everything else, if anyone else other than Nolan made it people would admit it was no good. I don't know if you're very young or simply can't write. Next time spell check and use punctuation.

It's my favourite Nolan film and in my top 10 films of all time And I agree with your sort of "issues" if you can even call them issues because in itself they can be interpreted as a kind of praise lol. But with the dreams not being as whacky I thought maybe it could be because it's more a state of conciousness similar to a dream rather than one itself. The situations are also designed and structured by an archetict so it's easier for them to do their job. I mean if it was unpredictable and indane as our real ones are it'd be pretty hard to manipulate and achieve their goal. And it's also made possible by technology which would make the craziness of what can be created by the human mind a bit harder to replicate

Love Inception so much. Possibly my favourite of Nolan’s films. Hoping Tenet delivers in many of the same ways. P.S I’m seeing Tenet in 2 days!!! Can’t believe the wait is almost over! I hope time doesn’t start reversing or anything between now and then... EDIT: Just saw the movie... I won’t spoil anything but... wow... I really don’t know what to say... man I cannot wait to hear Sean’s thoughts on it...

Well, those who never seen Inception before should never come back to this video, Sean. There are films that you just need to see as soon they came out.

You know Inception is a good movie when one of Sean's negative ponts is that there's so much awsome stuff going on that you might forget some of the smaller awsome stuff

I wanna become a film director and make profound films . To be brief, I was inspired by Inception. This is a fabulous film that full of ingenuity, tension, interesting plot sequences. By the way, after I had watched the film, I used to have dreams where I was able to control it and was aware that it was a dream. It how a good film can affect audiences.

Going to see it with my family this weekend in IMAX for its 10th Anniversary release (of course I’ve seen it). A little overrated perhaps, but it mostly works for me. And yes, I respect its craft more than I actually enjoy it. After all, the lynchpin is yet another Nolan staple: a woman who either is wicked or winds up dead-here, it’s both as she frames her husband for her suicide, which is heavy stuff. But it’s spectacular, and the exposition could’ve been boring, but because they are establishing the rules quickly in this dreamscape, I don’t mind. Not his best film (neither is The Dark Knight), but it’s fantastic. Can’t wait for your thoughts on Tenet, which I will see ASAP, as well as your new ranking!

This was one of my first Nolan films. And it's still one of my favorites. Still think The Prestige and Dunkirk are better, but this is still an incredible film and has (probably) Nolan's best action sequences.

I think when you finish the list and watch Tenet you should rank all 11 movies. I know you did a Nolan ranking before, but that was 2 years ago, plus we have a new movie coming out
