Hey Sean. One of my all-time favorites and still the one I struggle the most with -> the Tone Curves. Usually I do an S-Curve in the RGB sections but I know there's so much more to it. However, it really changed the dynamics of contrast for me. Would love to see a video on your toughts and process if you use them!

I keep forgetting how to use these😊 . Esp the ' erase and fix bits" AND find gradients scary 😅Thanks for the easy reminders, the examples are really great explanations. Your photos ate stunning
@hidekigomi3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t know the erase function within the graduated filter and the range mask within the radial filter (this isn’t yet available in the mobile, isn’t it?)! The best discoveries in months, thank you Sean! I was checking this channel literally yesterday to see if I missed any episode and if you were doing ok. I love your channel as always!
@seandalt3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately those features aren't yet available on mobile, which is so annoying! However you can make the adjustment on your laptop and the selection will transfer over to mobile with the range mask applied. If Adobe adds those features to mobile, it's going to be massive. Anyways thanks for your support Hideki, appreciate you checking in on the channel and hope you find the content going forward useful :)

Range mask is a great tool, thank you man, i did all the sporty horses by hand >__> but i don't really get the 12 minute thing, i guess you can reach the same by just turning highlights, shadows, bs&ws with the local selection of the full mountain with the further correction of some really light points. Thank you.

nice tutorial thank you! how did you frame the picture with the car?
@Nicolas.Duchemin3 жыл бұрын
Great tutorial. I'm using those tools quite often but I wish Adobe would use these adjustements as layers like in Photoshop or Capture One. You can rename the layers and easily know which layer is affecting what part of the picture.
@seandalt3 жыл бұрын
Agreed, that would be a really great feature. I believe they can do that and still keep the program simple and easy to use. Even just being able to color code the different layers and leave a note would be helpful

Hey Sean, thanks for the course. I'm using Sony a6000 as my main photography camera and have invested in several APSC lenses on the go. Started out as a hobby then eventually now I'm becoming a passionate intermediate and sometimes i feel inferior to people who are using full frame sony camera because they are much bigger and better. I dont know why i have this feeling but maybe it's because i'm becoming more and more involve with photography and it makes me feel like having better and more expensive gear will help me take better pictures? Take note that this is not my career nor im getting paid to shoot photos. I'm just a enthusiast and also since i like to collect lens and have different lens for different situations to shoot with it seems like APSC lenses are cheaper and more affordable compare to full frame lenses. Do u think my thoughts of this is silly?
@seandalt3 жыл бұрын
Hey Shindouz! Thanks for commenting man, and I totally understand how you're feeling. I used to shoot with the Sony a6300 and was envious of my friends that had the bigger full frame Sony cameras. The APSC cameras are really amazing at capturing photos, and you're right, the lenses are cheaper! You can live your entire life shooting APSC and you'll be able to capture amazing photos with a small portable camera that doesn't cost too much. However, if you have the money to spend and you feel artistically confined by the APSC, a full-frame camera and lenses can be a great investment. Full-frame lenses are more expensive, but they are amazing lenses and they can last for many years. Resale value stays high too. You can get a used full-frame A7III for cheap as well. Amazing camera. If you want to make the jump to full-frame, I recommend buying a used A7III and then maybe a Sigma 24-70mm, 2.8, or one or two primes that you really enjoy shooting with. Sigma and tamron make great Sony lenses that are pretty cheap. I hope this helps man, I know you're in a predicament!

Possibly a dumb question haha why use lightroom classic as opposed to lightroom? I'm trying to get some of the adobe downloads off of my computer for space purposes and speed of my new but slow computer haha. Should I be using both?
@seandalt3 жыл бұрын
Great question! And I actually plan to make a video on this topic. Lightroom classic is just a more robust and more “pro” version of Lightroom. It has more features. Plus, it’s older, and most of us photographers have more experience with it because that’s what we started on. I (and most professional photographers), don’t use the newer version of Lightroom at all :)
@Potsnpets3 жыл бұрын
@@seandalt hmm good to know... So I can possibly delete lightroom and just use the classic or at least try it to get me used to it. Your 100% correct the Lightroom seems to edit but not all the pro features i want so i send it to affinity photo/ designer or photoshop a lot for edits. ( I came from affinity suite with no adobe experience so quiete the learning curve for me.) One of my struggles is with just family photos, trying to organize and get them onto our shared family amazon photos (streams photos on tv too) and sharing to facebook. Adobe doesnt seem to share well for me .
