Sean these videos are dope, im following along in my session in logic and using them as I watch this. Is making my mix sound a lot better thank you so much for this free info. Im probably gonna download some of your templates after this. One question tho, why do you like studio rack? why not just insert the plug ins into the channel. Is it an organization thing? would love your opinion on this, thanks man!

thanks Adam! a couple of reasons why I use Studio Rack: the quick keys seem simple but are very effective for conveniently tweaking presets. Saving and loading presets is great. I work in a few different DAWs depending on the project, so being able to save and load effects chains across any DAW is invaluable as well.

YOU. ARE. THE. MAN. You are the only mixing engineer/producer I follow that creates and clearly shows how to make such a clean yet full mix. Everything you touch is soooo clean my man. Thank you for everything you do and for showing us tips and tricks on how to get that clarity, punch, depth, and creative movement.....all with the right amount of simplicity. Much appreciated!!

You are a great person showing us this, very very usefull, thank you, but I have a question, do you think it isn't usefull to do a drum mix buss and glue them together with some compression or some kind of processing?
@SeanDivine4 жыл бұрын
glad it helped! with these style of drums, going for maximum impact and dynamics, drum bus is usually not the answer :)

Sean often times for all my drums I put on the API 560 on the drums with analog on cause I feel like it adds a nice sound to the drums, I use some of the presets and adjust. Is there anything else in waves you’d recommend I give a fiddle with?

Yo Sean! Thanks for the video, one of the most useful video on mixing I've ever watched. Great job! What do you think about drum buss? Do you use it in your mixing routine? Do you have some kind of your special effects chain for summary drum track? Especially, I'm really confused about overall reverb on drums - you use reverb on every channel, so overall reverb would be some kind of extra? Thank you again for amazing example of explaining.
@SeanDivine5 жыл бұрын
I use drum busses on occasion for a more "glued" sound or for parallel processing to add some punch. Otherwise, I'm typically processing them individually as you see here, especially with electronic drums. It tends to give you a more impactful sound, in my experience.

hello sir, I wanted to ask you how does that make you use a stereo rack studio on mono sounds such as kick or snare? I'm French that's why I ask you I have trouble translating the video on mixing beat trap with plugin waves. thank you in advance for your reply good day to you!
@SeanDivine5 жыл бұрын
I like to use stereo effects on the aux for processing (reverb, delay, width, etc) so we can send a mono signal to a stereo aux and have a lot more flexibility for processing
