I can't tell you how much ground this video has covered for me personally. I have spent hours upon hours watching videos on how to make a cleaner mix etc and this video with help of these plug ins has produced by far my best mix to date. HONESTLY! Before they were muddy and I was kidding myself into believing they'll do but they never did and I have wasted so much time tweaking plug ins which never made a difference but in fact took me further away from a defined mix. Thank you for your time and effort

Great moment in time we live in. You can sit in your own home or studio and master a song!! I love what's out here nowadays musically!!! I find that if your already there with your mix, take a break and go right into your master!! Do it yourself!! Then have several people listen and then go from there!!! I find that out of all the plugins I keep going to the same ones!! Let's face it, they work perfectly all the time. I call it a relationship, some plugins make the project sound good and some don't. You have to find the right plugins that work well with each other!! Mastering I thought at one time was real hard. I was wrong. It's very easy if you listen very carefully as your working !! As they say time and time again , use your ears, trust your ears, if it sounds good or great it probely is. If it sounds bad or horrible then start all over again!!

I slept on the IM Pusher until I demo it at 1:30am last night and My GOD! That plugin kicks ass! It's the punchiest plugin I own. It's even punchier than the Weiss mkII from Soft Tube. And for $29 it was a steal. I feel like I'm the Utah Jazz and just drafted Donovan Mitchell as a steal. That's how this plugin makes me feel
@DreadPitt6 жыл бұрын
Still a beast, however I do find it shapes the sound quite noticably, especially the kick. Sometimes it's nice, sometimes it's not so nice.

What I normally do is to copy the original track without any plug-in and bring down the level of the mastered track as low as the original one. Otherwise it's impossible to hear any difference due to the loudness difference. But with same levels you can really start to hear what each plug-in does. Would be nice if you could do the same in upcoming videos. Either way, awesome video! Thanks! :-)

@Sean Devine, great video. I am a producer and usually do a pretty tight mix on my beats and then hand them off to get polished. But I've been wanting to learn how to Master not having analog gear and I've viewed a ton of videos over the past 2 weeks and yours by far as been the most direct, clean and very insightful. Cannot wait to try this on some mixes that I am getting ready to send to one of my artists. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Congratulations nice job I have a curiosity you said that you have to be careful when working with the stereo image due to the fact of the anti phase but I see that something is filtered in the anti phase area it is not a problem to leave in the mix that little signal in the anti phase?

a little bit of visual feedback there isn't necessarily an issue... more important to use your ears and identify any major phase issues you could be introducing kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXuZe5qkablrkNk

The only other thing I would do the would be an enhancement as well before you add the pusher and find out how much you want to use is automation .....making those hooks/drops louder than the other parts of the songs even if its just 2-3db+/- ....that would add the dynamics back in going against what the limiter is doing in a since...I love this video and I learned a lot I'm not critiquing your work flow its just an idea formed from watching this video

Thanks for this exceptional tutorial. Very interesting how many of the other mastering tutorials I've dived into focus on the l3 maximizer or l2 limiter. I seemed to get a better result with this method, using the IMpusher. Any thoughts on this? L3, L2 vs IMpusher... When I might use one over the other, or even combine them?
@SeanDivine5 жыл бұрын
the Impusher is a unique limiter altogether, it sounds quite different than the L2 but closer to the L3. I find pusher and the L3 can handle very loud mixes and still sound very transparent. L2 is more of a "glued" sound that works well for rock and acoustic material kzbin.info/www/bejne/pouZamOcgJWkhac
