Glad to have found your video. It's going to be a great help when I start my Horten.

Is it made of metal parts ?

That came out really nice. I was wanting to try heat staining on a buddys RC plane but he was too ADHD to wait. RC planes are ticking timebombs anyway.

how do you go about gluing the painted parts without ruining the finish. do you just touch up the paint or is there a secret glue beside TET or superglue that I'm missing working on my f4 from ZM and running into a few issues after painting lol

Walter, that’s a tough one. I try to glue as much as I can before paint. However, it really just depends on how visible the part you’re glueing is going to be. ZM kits are horrendous in this regard (as you know by now) because of all of the internal structures. If I paint then glue, I first scrape paint off of both contact areas, then use a tiny bit of TET. By limiting the amount of TET and having scraped away the paint, you’ll get a solid join and you won’t get any of that goopy paint mess when the glue mixes with the paint. If there is any witness from the post paint glue job, I just touch up with a brush. As far as ca glue, I rarely use it for structural stuff, it’s just too brittle. For painted landing gear I’ll often use a small amount of 5 min epoxy. Any sheen left over from the glue I just touch up with a clear dull coat.

I thought that was the steps but geez its rough hahaha. ca was a garbage connection point. I have the thick tamiya in the orange bottle. I think it's more of a glue than a welder. or at least my test show that anyways. I may give that a go and see if it's better than the mess with TET. thanks for the input sir

my next plane is the Toryu and the phantom is my first plane and test bed for that one. I'm usually a tank guy and I havent done that long either but they've all been full interior kits so I figured I might end up ok or at least my delusions tell me so hahaha.

I have this kit too but it looks so intimidating
@seanerk5kt95 жыл бұрын
tanitatt it is actually going together pretty well. You just have to be prepared to take your time and test fit as you glue.
