Very good explanation, thank you. I am working on the easy swing and I am sure this is right for me (hc20, 59, lower back issues, long time no play). I struggle a bit with repeatability. It may be the third leaver that increases room for difference? I would think the more leavers the harder to repeat. Anyway, I will practice and assume that with a smooth swing and good rhythm I can become more consistent. Best, Pete

I practiced all winter with Easiest Swing. Purchased a new Swingrite. Getting clicks at the easy setting. Hitting much straighter this year. Happy with the consistency BUT I can only hit a seven iron 100 yards ... oh well. I think I need more snap or whip or something.

Excellent video. I have been trying to use the Easiest Swing Method for almost 3 years and like it very much. I know that La Dance emphasizes the turn as one of six components. I do it at least twice before each shot as well as at my fitness center (before it closed). When hitting the ball I could not get the same feeling of the level turning of hips but it instead it feels like a more lateral move instead of a turn. When that happens the feeling I get is that my arms are operating independent of my body and good contact is dependent on perfect timing. Yesterday I tried consciously fully turning my hips from the start of my downswing and I got better results. If I do that on every shot will I eventually get to the point where I don’t have to consciously think about that move?

Thanks for your comments James. The turn and the wieght transfer will begin to happen together with practice. Keep Dansing and don´t forget to keep practicing the Swinging Legs Exercise which will support this.

Well done and thank you. Thinking of my left arm as the lever to a faster swing speed is very helpful. I have always thought any power I had was coming from my trailing right arm. I will be trying this out soon.

Hi Paul, thanks for your comment. And it will really help if you practice the relaxed finish position with specific attention on the relaxed right arm and right side. To finish here you must turn through the shot which is where the power comes from. Good luck with your practice and keep me posted.

sean, it lookalike the increase in speed comes from the turn, but that the initiation comes from a slight dropping of the hips, bringing the club shaft close to your trail hip.

Hi Scott, you are probably right. However I want to point out that this language is not something I am going to engage in too much with you. This is the culture of conventional golf and the technical over analysis is something we at the Easiest Swing want to avoid. I am primarily interested in learning skills and developing the art of playing different golf shots and not about achieving the perfect golf swing. I would like to ask you another question: who is the most successful male golfer of the last decade? The answer is Jim Furyk. And, according to many, his coach (his dad) is thought by many to be the best golf coach of the decade as he did not change his swing - as other coaches would have done.

Superb Sean and extremely helpful analysis and comparison with modern swing teaching. I can understand better now why myself and friends struggle so much with conventional approach- despite 2 of us once being single figure handicappers and myself 11 and trying really hard to get more speed. One question if I may. On the backswing does the club take a more inside route as the face opens (?) than some modern swing teachers would recommend? Your approach is very encouraging , particularly as I struggle to keep my head central-albeit I hit the ball best when it does move!

Hi Ian, yes I would say the club does tend to take a more inside path on the backswing mainly because the width of the arc is not as wide. Regarding the face opening on the backswing this is not something we encourage at all. I am keen to know where you get this idea from. And yes the head movong towards the target on the forward swing is pure genius!

Seán Herron Face opening may then be a bit of an optical illusion as I thought I could see quite a lot of the face as the club is swung up in the back swing. I understand the clubface should not be fanned open (which I actually used to do quite successfully for a long time when I first started playing) and latterly for some time I have tried to keep it as I would describe it as more square-which works well enough. A number of teachers I tried to follow want the clubface pointing more towards the target at approx shaft horizontal which I have found much too difficult (combined with holding this through impact. )It is however very encouraging to see your comments about inside path as this definitely something I prefer to do Anyway I have tried to use easiest swing playing and practising and it is extremely encouraging and exciting. I have found pitches very straightforward and accurate! My friend (who played off single figures at one time) is very interested in taking up the approach as well. He is keen to know what the clubhead speeds are which you generate. Are there any of your (or other easiest swing coaches) videos which I can be referred to to help him? Hope to get my Hole in One delivered today!! Apologies if this is too long and detailed! Am trying to get my wife thinking about holidaying in Mallorca for a change! Regards Ian

What, exactly, are you doing to the Swing Rite, after you swing? It appears that you are sliding the coupling….? It has two levers, that can be pressed in, to lock the coupling, BUT, once you do that, it won’t CLICK(slide). Not sure how the coupling is supposed to function.

I have replaced the Swing Rite with a Swing Caddy or Hole in One where I don’t need to reset. You may want to look at these newer models. @ I appreciate your quick response, however, my question went unanswered. I have the original Swing Rite, and I’ve forgotten what the two push buttons are for. Once the coupling is slid over them, the coupling no longer slides. Gravity is what allows it to slide, yet, I notice that you seem to do SOMETHING after the completion of your swing. I just want to be clear on the proper usage of what I bought, some time ago.

Sean, Great video. I have a question about ball position. With your explanation, I get the impression that the closer your arms swing(more upright) the faster the swing speed. Is this a correct observation?

Hi Frank, my observation is that if the arms stay connected more to the body it allows for the body to contribute to the power behind the swing, as well as helping rhythm and coordination and balance. You see, the average player tends to slow down through impact rather than speed up and keeping the arms close allows you to put that impetus forward through the impact zone with power and speed. As well as that , the idea of using the left arm as a 3 lever system means that you will find it easier to continue accelerating through the ball rather than getting stuck like a lot of golfers. Do you have a SwingCaddy? It helps to practice this.

Hi Shawn, at the time I took this video my ball flight was more straight and maybe a tight fade. I have been working more with my swing and am starting to get that tight draw you mention. And by the way we encourage movemnet with the easiest swing. Often golfers need to move more rather than stay fixed over the ball which ultimately stops them from turning

Hi Vince, no the right arm does not move or work like a lever in the golf swing. Unless you are left handed of course. The best way to get a feel for the right arm action is to hit short shots with the right hand/arm only. I will do a video on this soon. Hope this helps for now.

Not agree with your definition of traditional swing method. Your method is more scientific based as the so called traditional. Can be called traditional only because of an absolutely amateurish approach to the analysis of movement structures, limiting itself to the most visually visible kinematic.
