Hi I was diagnosed prediabetic last August so stopped sugar and carbohydrates and have lost a stone and a half easily, never felt hungry. Eggs, fish, meat, cheese, butter, nuts, plain greek yoghurt, chia and flax seeds and leafy greens mainly. I have had to rethink my garden as potatoes are no longer eaten. At 75 I wish someone had told me about carbohydrates before as I feel so much better without too many.

A 1/2 medium potato a day popped in a stew or soup should be fine and potatoes are so delicious and good for you.

Hi Sean, I’ve been doing the carnivore diet for 1 year now. I’ve lost 42 lbs and I feel 10 years younger. My digestive system is working like I’m in my 20’s again. My doctor ran lipid tests on my blood and it’s looking great! I eat all things from animals. I do still eat onions, cabbage, radishes. I love to grow vegetables and ended up giving them all to my neighbors this year. 😊

Hi Sean , nice to try something different and experiment with dishes . I planted a Medlar a few years ago ( 7 ) and we have had progressively larger harvest each year . This year has been the largest yet . Its not a sweet fruit and can be made into a jam spread as the fruits soften ( they call it bletting )

I put a quince in the ground this year also but I never tasted the fruit. I hear it isn't the most appetizing, lol. But the mother plant to the one I put in was beautiful.

The science and research are decades old and blindingly obvious Sean - diets don’t work! You will know this, you’ve tried them and you are about to repeat the mistake. The weight always goes back on when you stop. What you need to do is adopt a way of eating that can be sustained for life and that you don’t consider a diet. My wife and I went plant based about ten years ago. The food is wonderful, the health benefits immediate and life changing. Good luck, I will watch with interest and hope you prove me wrong!

Whilst I know it’s an extremely personal thing to want to drop a few pounds, but can I be cheeky and say you look just right to me. I hadn’t tried Quince before so when I was offered gravy on a roast dinner by a vegetarian friend, I was a bit sceptical… it was okish but I found it very bitter. Another lovely video thank you Sean ❤

Hi Sean, the only way to lose weight is not the fad diets that are short term weight lose, but to eat a healthy balanced diet, reduce your calorie intake and increase your exercise.

I've shared on your comments section over the years now that tracking calories, carbs, protein, and sodium has seen me go from 19.5 stone down to todays 13. Aim for 1700 calories per day and you will be losing weight without a doubt. I'm about to go make 100 grams of plain brown rice and 87 grams of chicken breast for breakfast. Will probably add a handful of frozen spinach to the pan as well and just warm that all up and season it. An egg scrambled with it sounds good. Yep, now let me work that out. 318 calories, 30.5 whole carbs, 36g protein, and 140mg sodium.

If only it was as easy to lose weight as it is to put it on! I've been told by the doctor that I have a fatty liver so I'm also learning more about what's good and what's not. I never realised how bad too much carbohydrates could be for you.

Nice video Sean. I loved your trip to Harry Dodson’s garden with Rickvanman and watched it many times. I hope you abandon the diets. The best way to reduce your weight is to change your eating lifestyle. Give up a couple of the worst culprits for a start which would be chocolate and sugary drinks. Just drink water or milk or tea. Don’t eat any foods proclaimed to be ‘reduced’ in fat or sugar and try to stay away from ultra processed foods. Those few changes will give you a head start. xx

I recently encountered people on YT advocating for the carnivore diet. They looked super healthy. I've said in the past and will say again...we're all different, and I don't believe one diet works for all. I also believe people go through periods in life where one diet may help for a while until they recalibrate whatever physical condition they need in their bodies. I think the trick becomes knowing yourself well enough to correctly decide what you need when. What worked for us one year may not the next. Anyhow, good luck! Oh...I've also seen some of your shorts recently in my feed. I liked the one where you sang to the birds. You have a good voice, Sean!! One hint: because "shorts" are so short 🤣, you might want a "catch" to your shorts--something which "draws in the customer." Maybe make it a small lesson in one minute, or show the beginning and ending of something--like a scene when planting and then what you harvested. Or something funny that happened with animals or you did that went wrong...you're the expert--you'll know what to do!

I'm sorry but that BBE thing sounds ridiculous, any fad diet like that is not great, as Michael Pollan said, ' shop the periphery of the supermarket ' ' eat food, not too much, mostly plants'... Sorry, got me on my hobby horse!!
