Were at the City Square Shopping Center, located in Kalihi (Honolulu, Hawaii). Were exploring the other food spots I was curious about in Part 1. I took our viewers' suggestions on where to go here and thought, this will be an awesome reason for another Food Tour! I'm so, so happy I stumbled upon your video! I subscribed immediately! I was fortunate to have my OJT at Trippler Medical Center after my AIT I loved being in Hawaii! I'm using my other half tablet. I loved the food while there. To me I grew up as an Army Brat. My Mama is Native Alaskan, so she was always asked by other Filipina, Korean, Japanese and Latina so we enjoyed all foods so Hawaii was like visiting loved friends! My first duty station after OJT Trippler was Frankfurt ,Germany. Went to high school there. I'm filipino and ube is basically in our blood lol. I've been to many places in the mainland where they don't serve legit ube and it's extremely disappointing because I've heard people say that ube is disgusting when in reality they just went to a spot that serves really cheap tasting ube. I'm so happy that there's a spot in Hawaii that serves legit ube to the people. I truly believe that ube can be universally loved if they serve legit ube. Ive been watching your videos lately and I've become a fan and subscribed. Very informative and entertaining. I love Ubae. It’s known in New York too. Did not know there was a specialty shop in that strip mall! I need to check it out the next time I’m in Oahu again. When people ask me what’s one of the things they should do in Hawaii. I always answer, you gotta “eat!” Hawaii has great, great food. NY is weak when it comes to sushi and poke. It’s too expensive, doesn’t taste fresh like Hawaii and not easily accessible. They make it seem that the wealthy can afford the best sushi. Not in Hawaii! It’s more of a staple and it has an unbeateable fresh flavor. Not even the great Gordon Ramsey can touch Hawaiian cuisine! All these hole in the wall chefs would have to be his mentors! Hands down, Hawaii is the best for sushi, poke and Hawaiian and Asian cuisine!!!! Love that u include immediate family in your food reviews. Your wife is adorable and your mom is funny!
