Been living on the East Coast for 10 years and I always miss Hawaii cuisine. So delicious!I. remember Royal Kitchen as a kid. It was my favorite dim sum take out! My mom would always order a plate lunch and dim sum. So yummy. Next time I visit my family I’m going there. I do remember in the 70s and 80s, the tables u were sitting on , it used to be a bunch of old men playing games every time we would go there. I get why your mom is loved. She is a local girl. Aloha Misty! We filmed over 2 days and we had to strategically plan it. Like 3 places in the morning afternoon... go home then come back for 2 more late afternoon and night for 2 straight days. Was a fun adventure and didn't know about certain spots until we went. And thanks for watching until the end! Yeah.. I have quite a bit of memories here with my Dad. And that fun stand.. Gon and Ti is awesome!! Gosh.. it's the best bang for my buck when it comes to Vietnamese food and with Margaret Cho, it was okay. She's funny but very political. Oh well. Thanks for making these Chinatown videos! We recommend Chinatown for the food and the culture. It has gotten an undeserved reputation as being dangerous. One guide even told us to never visit. There were some incidents a few years ago but you show off a thriving and safe place to visit. We got that feeling too on our last trip. Mahalo!

Your video popped up and I didn't know your channel existed and I totally love you all showcasing these spots in Chinatown. My mom decided to watch with me and she knows a lot of the spots you went too and was like hey its so and so when you went into the kitchens or met the workers or the owners. My childhood was Chinatown, I basically called it a second home and a lot of the old eateries have closed sadly. I miss Char Hung Sut, so many memories since I was a baby to my 30's. We would always pick up a box of shiu mai, char siu baos, ,ma tai soo, ipkai, and rice cakes, and just eat it on the way home as we faced all the traffic back to the westside. I love the content and will probably show my mom more of your videos. I have to translate all of your videos to her but its a good bonding moment for us.
