Longships generally got pulled across land using logs, like the way you see the villagers pulling Thors' ship out of storage in episode 2(?). Smaller ships like Leif's knarr may have been carried like this though.

Fun fact! This was originally the first chapter of the manga and everything before it was a flashback. A lot of manga change style over time and I think our French man may be a victim to that. Although it is pretty extreme! 😂

I'm about to be the akshually guy, but it's neither NA-ruto nor na-RU-to. Japanese doesn't have stressed syllables like English does. In Naruto's case, it does sound closest to NA-ruto though.
