Judging by what Hugh said, his mother was probably Saera Targaryen. It was a pretty sweet inclusion that she loved him, despite him probably being one of her client's children, and said he had worth and was no different from Viserys and Daemon

For those who don’t know Saera Targaryen was a daughter of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen thus making her King Viserys and Prince Daemon’s aunt. She had a falling out with her father the King over the death of one of her lovers and due to scandal she ended up running away from Westeros and ended up being a very high end prostitute in Lys. Eventually she left Lys to go to Volantis, where she became the proprietor of a famous pleasure house. After that nothing else is known about her in the books.

I am like 99% sure its Saera Targaryen due her being the only one in the books who we know she had multiple bastard sons but i do look this reveal because this makes his future very interesting

The Jace and Rhaenyra convo was so sad for a number of reasons. Jace was taught to not listen to the whispers because he's a Targaryen and that's his birth right because of his dragon. He sees how Rhaena has been treated for not having one and even poked fun at Aemond for not having one as a kid. Now his mom is inadvertedly putting him in a dangerous spot because one of the silver haired Targaryen bastards would have the look and inherit a huge dragon. Another reason I was sad is because it felt like Rhaenyra couldn't even connect to Jace like normally because she's on her cult leader arc. Anyway! Great episode lol can't wait to see the bar's reaction to Silverwing.

I agree. It’s sad cause it was a smart plan for Rhaenyra, but it simultaneously will make it harder for her son to be able to stand his ground, because the thing that has differentiated him from others is his dragon and now he no longer has that

I don’t think it was dramatized on paper very well; based on the context and characterization this season I cannot buy that Jaec would be this petty and stupid Can I buy it? Sure, but the pages aren’t selling it, and the actors and the audience have to really work to get there

It's why I wish they hadn't made such a huge deal over the silver hair. In the book, Rhayns had dark hair, not silver ( although I'd not trade on screen Rhaynns for anything ,eve was awesome) and she was the best of her generation.

Rhaenyra is thinking of now and not seeing his this could cause another succession crisis later. Who’s to say one of the dragon seeds won’t challenge Jace’s inheritance? Hugh revealed he was princess Seara’s son, the daughter of King Viserys. Realistically Jace is as much a bastard as any of the dragon seeds protected only by his mother’s claim which isn’t even widely acknowledged. Rhaenyra needs to tread carefully for her son’s claim

So you've just admitted that you have either big comprehension problems (she literally used her power for the Dothraki to stop raping for just one exemple), or big bias against Danny, and projecting them on her "fans". Also it's funny how people who think like you are always so prone to call the WOMEN who do bad and/or grey things "mad", but never do for the MEN who do exactly the same or even WAY worse than them. It's ridiculous that the men of the two shows are being held to their society standards but the women have to be literally without reproach/saints to be "enough"/good. And if I wasn't clear enough I am not one to just cheer at them while shouting "Yaas queen!" (even if they literally are, for once) at everything they do. But YES Danny's characterisation in season 8 was awfull because YES her "madness" came out of nowhere and was so badly written. At least if GRRM is still gonna go this route with her character he will write it well (or he will never, because he will never finish his books, but that's another discussion).

The kid did well. He held his head down alone with Daemon, because he knows better. But he talked trash and showed some BALLS in front of all the people and stood up against Daemon.. That was the only way all those people would’ve followed that little boy. It was a brilliant strategy. Daemon realized it soon enough and played along.

Kinda sad the show runners went in this direction. Jace in the books was the one in favour of the Dragon Seeds. I don't really get the point of this besides whitewashing Rhaenyra's character even more on the show.
