Mon Mothma is just a politician, she was a senator since before the Old Republic turned into the Empire and now she's part of the secret pro rebel faction in the senate along with Princess Leia's dad.

I think Andor is the first step in a LONG OVERDUE, much needed process to retrain Star Wars fans Yeah George and FPJ talk about “Star Wars is for kids”…but theyre fuckin wrong. They’ve been wrong for three decades. That $400 Haslabs Razor Crest or deluxe lego ATAT aint being paid for by fucking kids. They’re being bought by fans who were kids in 1977-1983, or 1999, or whenever. You can pump out Baby Yoda shorts for kids now but feed the adults prestige TV level writing in Andor. I think Mando offers a different flavor of Star Wars, but with a similar level of care s2e7 (Bill Burr’s second ep) had no baby Yoda, but some deeper conversations like what Andor regularly gives us. Because it’s Mando, that ep had all more fun pew pew and boom boom. That might be a good example of something still serious, but tilted a bit more toward action. As i said tho,…Mando and Andor are perfectly complementary. Gimme mama’s home cooking sometimes, gimme Miromoto other times.

George doesn't owe you anything just because you bought some overly expensive toys. Star Wars is for kids when George was in charge. Everything up until the Disney acquisition, Star Wars was for kids. Simple as that.

I knew you guys would be the ones to actually talk about the political themes and allegories. It's maddening that like every other reaction doesn't mention them. Like a pie with no filling.

Mon Mothma, Perrin (husband) and Leida (daughter) are Chandrilans. They are a very conservative society that practices arranged marriage with the age of betrothal being 14. Mon and Perrin seem to have been engaged at that age and married later on. At some point she mentions he was the campus firebrand so they likely shared a good connection at the time. They are both not fond of their world's customs but Perrin has become a hedonist and Leida resents Mon, likely due to her not getting enough quality time with her so she rebels by embracing her Chandrilan heritage, much to Mon's dismay.

This is a very weird show, using the old and archaic strategy of "good writing" for their story, this has not been seen in star wars for 40 years. It's a cute idea. Let's see if it works out for them :)

this show is almost like the game of thrones of star wars. as in the early got it was all plots with in plots. a lot of set up for the pay off. without blood and nudity.

“Book of Boba Fett” was sadly a product of crunch, dispensable bait the suits ordered with a hard deadline to keep stream subscriptions alive a year ago I hope they hire more people, and just feel inspired and rallied to work harder after ‘Andor’
@TheRoyalFino2 жыл бұрын
My only issue with this show is the episodes don't feel satisfying enough but the show isn't slow for me. The pace is fine. Most likely, they wanted 10 weeks out of Andor to justify the budget. If spreading 4 mini-movies into 12 episodes was what they had to do to make the budget work, that's fine. I want more and that's a good thing. The quality of every detail of this show is terrific.

I think that some arcs don’t have enough scenes and as a result, the edit bay doesn’t have ‘button’ moments that close episodes More a composition issue than a narrative one
@BrendanArntz2 жыл бұрын
I'm with you. I'm totally on board with this show but each episode doesn't feel "episodic" enough, there's not really a seperate arc for each. It's like this long form is literally like they took a story a just chopped in into 12 parts. Its a minor grip and kind of affects pacing. Small gripe. That being said, this show is close to outpacing Mando as my top star wars show so far
@CaesiusX2 жыл бұрын
Speaking of _"not a kid's show,"_ I may have missed an announcement regarding *Legend of Korra,* but I don't think we've had an episode for like 2 months. 🤷🏼♂️ As for the pacing, perhaps it is because I was raised on episodic television, but I do feel this has pacing issues. I look at those first 3-4 episodes and they took forever to get from point A to point B. . .despite how there may be great moments in a given episode. I suppose my main issue is that I see people argue that we couldn't have these great moments unless we go at a crawl. But they needn't be mutually exclusive.
@CarbonMage2 жыл бұрын
Maybe Korra is an issue with getting KZbin edits out because there's so many shows they're doing as they release? The episodes are still going up on patreon, they just posted 4x9 last week

@@joegreene7619 it feels more like ‘mini-series’ episodes, and I don’t think that’s by default a crime; but definitely something we’ve grown unaccustomed to
@CaesiusX2 жыл бұрын
@@joegreene7619 I was raised on episodic television as well. And I just happen to disagree. They accomplished a great deal within a 40 to 52 minute time span, because they had to. And we're getting so much less within that period of time. Going by my comparison, perhaps the miniseries pacing noted by @hellfish2309 is closer. I just don't recall taking so much time to get from point A to point B, with little of consequence occurring in between. To be clear, I am not saying it sucks and we should all hate it. I am really enjoying what we're getting. I just don't think the show is benefiting from this pacing. *EDIT:* -Gummi bear ☞- 👖☜ _Pants!_
