I’ve been playing since the 90’s and never knew where to “place it” until now! Undisputedly your best tutorial. Yes 6 seconds answered 20 years of unknown! Thanks man!

I’ve played keys since the early 2000s and what I’ve learned under Sean has been amazing and given some context to some moves I’ve used over the years but never knew the theory behind it. Totally agree with you!

I've always used this only on the 5.....and always thought of it as playing the 5-1 on the left and the 2 minor chord in first inv..on the RT.......then resolving the LT one note, and the RT (middle note) one or two, depending on the sound you want..... Thinking of it as a single chord....does make it easier to transpose...and play on other scale tones.... Thanks for sharing the knowledge. -The Transpose Expert

Check out the link in the description, I have uses of it there that show that it doesn't always have to go on the 5, however, the 5 is the easiest for sure if someone is starting out. Thanks for the comment bro!

You can even use is as an, almost, rootless 2-5 as part of a major 2-5-1. Sounds lovely

We also can use the 9sus4 to go to the 4, in this case the 4 would be Bb (in the key of F of course) 😉

Sean Great video as always. A little constructive criticism, your over the shoulder Cam is not exposed properly, you can’t see the white keys, it all blown out. It defeat the purpose of showing your hands. I’ve seen few of your videos like that. You need to set the exposure and Lock 🔐 it. That way it won’t shift when lighting conditions change. Thanks.

One of my favorite tricks! The same halfstep sliding move works on 11's and 13's too, for example Cmaj7/D slides down to Bmaj7/D giving you this wacky Stevie Wonder sounding poly chord :D slap some tritones down there in your left hand and you really got some HIP STUFF going on.

@@SeanWilsonPiano Wait, I just thought of something. A D7 sus2 sus4 includes the 9(E) but it’s called D7 Sus2sus4, not D9sus4. Can u explain that?
@SeanWilsonPiano
@SeanWilsonPiano 2 жыл бұрын
@@BlessedOne686 sure, anytime the word 'sus' is used, it usually OMITS the 3rd note. Dominant chords include the 3rd note... a chord can never be both dominant AND sus because either they contain the 3rd note or they do not.. D9 is D-F#-A-C#-E and D9sus4 is D-G-C-E, the F# is not there in the sus chord
@BlessedOne686
