Saint Vitus is such a good band. The first album is still my favourite. Born to late a close second alongside Mournful Cries.

Mournful cries is a masterpiece. Btw thirsty and miserable is a Black Flag cover, Vitus were signed to SST records back then label owned by the guitarist of black flag. Would be great to see a show about the mighty Paul chain!! The Italian doom master. Cheers!!
Vitus rules! Thanks for sharing. Not only some great full length albums but some killer EPs and live albums as well.

Saint Vitus are extremely consistent. The self titled debut and Born Too Late are the band's best albums imo. That said they've never put out a bad album and the entire Saint Vitus catalogue is worth checking out.

So glad he's back behind the mic. 01) Hallows Victim 02) Die Healing 03) The Walking Dead 04) Born Too Late 05) V 06) Saint Vitus '84 07) Saint Vitus '19 08) Mournful Cries 09) Thirsty & Miserable 10) C.O.D. 11) Lillie F-65

My ranking: 1. Children of doom 2. Saint Vitus (84) 3. Hallow's victim 4. Born too late 5. Saint Vitus (19) 6. Mournful Cries 7. V 8. Die healing 9. Lillie F-65 I know that C.O.D. is disputed, but I think it's killer. Maybe it's because I got to know Vitus with this Album at age 21. Title track and Get away are my alltime favourites. But as Peter said, they never released a weak Album. And the live experience (I had the honour twice in my life) is overwhelming. Thank you for this Video, Pete.

An all-time fave band of mine. I love the Scott Reagers stuff but Wino...I mean he's a Lemmy-type lifer legend. The Obsessed, Spirit Caravan, The Hidden Hand, Place of Skulls, Shrinebuilder, the solo & acoustic stuff...he takes up a big space on my CD shelves. Also check out the video 'Scott Wino's garden' on here. It's classic stuff.

I'd place the first three albums with Reagers as the top 3. None of the Wino records come close for me. I like Wino alright, but Reagers sounds so dramatic and unhinged that it just fits Chandler's riffs so much better. It's a shame the most recent record with Reagers wasn't better, because it isn't a worthy follow-up to the masterpiece that is Die Healing.

Love this band! They started out on Black Flag's SST label. In fact Thirsty and Miserable is a slowed down version of a song from Black Flag's Damaged LP. Flag may have been the epitome of early Eighties "hardcore punk" but they had nothing but respect for heavy rock, which they basically grew up on.

Dokken said that it was like a favor he owed to someone. I read that not too long ago, can't remember where. he also said he thought the mighty Vitus sucked, because they were a plodding, one-trick pony band, with lousy tempo. hell, that is precisely why i LOVE St. Vitus. i do like Dokken, though, good pop metal with terrible hair haha (Vitus has always had the best look, imho), great guitar and memorable tunes here and there. but hey, saw Dokken in 88 and the kinda sucked, saw them again in 2013 and they were terrible; saw them again at some festival in 2018 and Don's voice was all but gone. so there!

I kick myself so hard for not picking up that Saint Vitus reunion 2003 DVD back in the day when I had the chance... Such a great live capture of the band. I really do like Born Too Late a ton, but really Lillie F-65 is the album of theirs I just keep coming back to. It's like 2 songs short of being a masterpiece IMO at only 35 minutes long with 2 instrumentals (only the last track "Withdrawal" with all the fuzz and noise doesn't do much for me, though I think I understand it in the context of the album).

I listen mostly to fully tech-metal, these guys don't know how to play their instruments and they are my favorite metal band! There 's just something magical in the combination of lyrics, riffs, unglamorous tone and sloppiness that gives a whole different twist to the whole thing for me. Reagers is a phenomenal singer! Once with some buddies we played every album plus The Walking Dead ep in a row and we didn't understand how 7 and half hours went buy!

Going a bit off-topic but my issue personally with most modern doom bands is that they obviously try hard to sound like Sabbath but they don't have any blues in them or any jazzy flair to their drumming. I find those elements integral to Iommi & co.'s sound.
