Search for FDR Drive hit-and-run driver

Police said a driver struck and killed a 31-year-old woman walking in the left lane, but did not stop.

The lanes on FDR Drive are some of the narrowest I've seen, and on top of that, the road is winding with blind spots. There's barely a few inches between cars when all three lanes are occupied, leaving no room for error. Walking on any lane, especially the left lane, is simply suicidal.

Totally agree, I drive through the FDR like 2days/wk 4x/day and even with years of experience driving, it is a very nerve racking to drive if the road is congested and yet everyone is above the 40mph speed limit. You won't have like inches of free room from the car next to you or the road barriers.

@ProjectsHoodRat They should reduce it to just two lanes. Even in heavy traffic, everyone still drives over 50 mph. Given that it's a winding road with narrow lanes, it's incredibly scary. Many drivers struggle to stay within their lanes on curvy roads, making it dangerous.

@@ProjectsHoodRat No. We do not need to reduce the lane down to 2. It is fine how it is and the width is good enough. Having a shoulder will cause more accidents with scumbag drivers using it to cut.
