We have a massive shortage of low skilled workers w/ the nation having lowest unemployment since 1969. Also it’s been over 3 years now that republican governors have been busing asylum seekers from their border states to NY and other Democrat cities and NY state tax payers already send millions of dollars annually to help w/ immigration flow. Where in those states they have detention centers and programs already built, staffed ready to assist these ppl. The republicans have deliberately made this a man made crisis. There’s no reason why these ppl should be barred from working while they go thru the Asylum process.
