Problem with taking Mark Kelly is that leaves a Senate seat open to a possible Republican replacement. Roy Cooper same situation that only leaves Josh Shapiro who makes the most sense likely PA will replace him with a dem Governor Mastriano could have been beaten by anyone he was crazy. Shapiro is really good at public speaking that will help both of them in the mid-west. Shapiro can also run in 2028 for President.

I remembered the year 2000 Presidential Election when the Supreme Court of the U.S. intervened by taking the win from Al Gore and Joseph Lieberman and giving it to G.W. Bush. Will the six U.S. Supreme Court Catholic Supermajority take away the win from a Kamala Harris and Josh Shapiro candidates' ticket? I hope Harris' committee on picking a Vice-Presidential candidate, can put aside 'special interests' promotions and take into consideration all of the real-world players and attitudes, because they're such a thing as being 'polite to a fault' and because this is not election to be trying to take advantage of an upswing in Democratic support to promote anything other than defeating Trump.

He's overtaxed his people into oblivion. Minnesota is arguably the third highest taxed state in the country with billions in surplus for years. On paper that sounds good, but he hasn't given much of it back at all. They've just taken. The roads are still pothole filled. Hospitals are underfunded and staffed. The only good that could come out of it is that he's out of Minnesota. There's a certain amount of overtime you shouldn't work depending on your pay as you'll be working for pennies on the dollar. There are better options for the Democrats.

As much as I’d like the pick to be Kelly, Harris’s path to 270 can survive without AZ but not without PA. Shapiro could potentially maintain the blue wall as well as sway votes in the sunbelt. Kelly is a great choice but solidifying the blue wall must be the end game to winning this one, which makes Shapiro the sounder choice.

I’d like to see swing state AZ Senator Astronaut Mark Kelly as the VP. He has the ultra cool smart military navy fighter astronaut factor (plus twin brother was an astronaut as well), and can advocate for VA, military funding, military families, NASA, climate change. Being a border state Senator he knows first hand about the immigration issues and could work with that, including coordination with military. Since his wife former Rep. Gabby Giffords was shot in the brain at a political event, he’s a great advocate for gun reform. Good luck to Trump running against an astronaut whose wife got shot worse than he did.

Roy Cooper is a better option. Tim hates the middle class. Overtaxes them and doesn't pay back the tax. MN has billions in tax surplus and has had it for years. They don't fix the roads and getting an MRI takes months due to low funding of hospitals and hospitals workers who make more in private practice. You get taxed so hard that your bosses won't schedule you past a certain amount of overtime because you're almost working for free. Minnesota is arguably the 3rd highest taxed state in the country.

After watching a documentary on how all these militias started, I'm thinking Mark Kelly, who clearly had a long career in the military as an astronaut, might be a great antidote to that. Rhodes Scholar, Articulate, mature, Served our country and been over the wire. He also has a calming, comforting demeanour , yet is paradoxically persuasive. A Kamala / Pete ticket would be a formidable force to be reckoned with and would crush the Trump Cult..Pete could win over any swing states. All the others on the list are insipid at best.

Shapiro has pretty much been in the tank for Israel, which is not the way to appeal to young voters and progressives. I'd prefer Cooper or Walz. North Carolina is winnable and Cooper got more votes than Trump or Republican Senator Tillis on the same ballot in 2020. Also, Shapiro has only been governor for 18 months and has years left on his term. Cooper's second term as governor ends January, 2025 and he can't run again because of term limits.

@@aiai-j7i sure , while dont think he is the worse things im not a fan of -Shapiro eliminated the college education requirement for state police, supported a Republican-led school choice , compared pro-Palestinian protestors to white nationalists that being said whats good is increasing budget for the public school, eliminating nonsense parole violations, investing in public transport( tho I would argue that’s mostly federal stuff cuz of Biden) overall i think he would lose a lot of the youth vote due to his pro Palestine protester comments, which has seen significant increase ever since Trump went into office.

I just watched Governor Shapiro's speech in Philly, which was powerful, prosecutorial, good rapid fire attacks. But he's not termed out and is historically popular there. I've also been impressed by the speaking ability of Governor Walz and many Minnesotans seem to be really happy with the job he's done there, so I don't know what Kamala is looking for but she has a very difficult choice. But in my opinion, it's hard to really go wrong with any of these picks even if it is Kelly in the end. I'd only suggest to Governor Hobbs that if Kelly IS picked, then try offering the Senate seat to Mark's twin, Scott Kelly for minimal impact, but I just know Trump is going to hammer Mark over the border and cause his popularity to decrease which even if only slightly is detrimental in a state like Arizona. That'd be my concern. The only ones I would toss out is Pete and Pritzker, because neither help with swing states, and Pete being LGBT I just don't think enough Moderates or Haley Republicans would be on board with that not to mention it'll only give them more to attack with by saying the Dems are doubling down on the "woke" agenda plus no prosecutor experience. You just have to look at, for example, can a replacement for say Shapiro in Pennsylvania defeat a future Republican there? Because we can't afford to lose the governor seat there to some election denier. Can a replacement to Kelly win over some of the McCain Republicans that Kelly has? It's a tough and even risky situation, which is why I'm personally leaning toward either Beshear, who has a special ability in picking up rural voters and could secure many Haley Republican voters, and then Walz or Cooper, neither of these hurt us if we lose them in their states, unless Cooper wants to run for Senate after his term to try to unseat either of the 2 Republican Senators there which would be nice. So for me it comes down to Tim Walz and Andy Beshear.
