Great find Damien, love these old buildings so much history must be undiscovered and buried. I guess the constant water around there has washed the silt through.

Thanks Mick, I saw you a couple of days ago walking down Stakeford Lane near the school, you had Ruby with you. Would have stopped but was on my way to Ashington with the family and was a line of traffic behind so the road was busy. Next time will stop and say hello. ATB.

Thanks Chris, I tried to send you a message but can't pm you from here, must be something in the settings?.. I made a short video about the knife, took some pics and gave my initial impressions before using it in the field. Is there any information you want me to mention regarding your channel and knife making?.. you have 2 channels so not sure which one to plug but you deserve a mention as you're knife making is very good. Took it fishing today, it feels very comfortble to wear on the belt, I don't even know its there unlike my TBS Boar which is heavier and can feel it hanging. It is razor sharp, even after some wood carving. I'll use it in future videos and mention it those as well. Also I've got some programs you might be interested in, mapping software and video editing, I'll tell you more when I see you next or you can email me fellwanderer01@gmail.com

Interesting video... thanks for sharing. I knew about the auxiliary units but wasn't aware that there were still bunkers about or that they were that well made.
@Fell_Wanderer8 жыл бұрын
Some bunkers are still around, the ones in remote locations are in the best condition. Some have been destroyed as they were a danger to kids. Some were removed to make way for later development so its important to record what remains for the hustorical record. ATB.

A lot of Auxiliary Unit bunkers were near the coast all down the east of England. Thats one of the places the Germans would have invaded first. I was going to camp in one but they are dark, damp and there is always the worry they may collapse on top of you. ATB, Damian.

Oh Gosh Damien, you be careful in such places. It is a cool find, how stable are they?
@Fell_Wanderer8 жыл бұрын
They can be unstable due to the age of them. There is only about 3 feet of soil on top but could still hurt you if they cave in. Damian.

The cold water tank was cos, when they were locked in, on operations, they wouldn’t be able to pop out to the stream to get water, plus that would need treating.

I haven't looked into those site, been researching ROC bunkers but the ones around my area are locked and not accessable. if you know of any interesting places to visit in Northumberland or nearby I'd love to know, ATB.

+Fell Wanderer there's a coulple of roc bunkers here, am in County Durham, one was accessible the last time I was up there and the other is now filled in, but you can still walk round it and get an idea of the size of it, if you fancy a look one day drop me a message 👍

The kids seem to find those forgotten bunkers first and turn them into dens Eddie, the one at Selkirk has swastikas and German eagles painted on by the local youth. I love the history surrounding these places, the wife lived in Guernsey as a child and she remembers bunkers and used to play in them. ATB.

Yes you can, its important to share and preserve our history. ATB, Damian.
Spent months trying to find time to go look for this ‘secret’ bunker, having gone today was totally disappointed to find that the land owner filled in the bunker around 4 months ago, such a shame as this will become another forgotten location, have no idea why the lady deemed this necessary 🙁🙁🙁
@Fell_Wanderer7 жыл бұрын
Its a shame that this has happened, maybe the land owner didn't want people wandering onto her land or was done for safety reasons as kids will often play in them. There are lots that have been destroyed and some that have yet to be found, thanks for the info, atb
