a lead seal-- give the lady a "hand"! I love your sense of humor.. and your hat!! I recognized Thomas right off- 20 odd years of working in childcare, he is easily spotted! =P =) I am grateful for the internet and your individual and joint jaunts! It's a virtual I Spy game, and I find myself saying out loud, "look there, what is it- pick it up so we can see it" namely what looked like a small cauldron or bean pot or maybe a chamber pot (or none of the above :) ) next to the lamp!! Thank you for taking us along!! I appreciate it!! I can't wait for the video compilation of mini mudlarks!! I'm sure it will be delightful-my thanks to the contributors and you Nicola for showing off their finds!

You two never ceases to amaze me. What wonderful finds. Here is a little tip for the next time you are in that location... If you begin your larking adventure at the downstream end of the section of the river, as you search and cloud-up the water the current will carry that clouded water away and leave you with clear water to continue teasure hunting.

Hi Nicola. So happy to have this wonderful video to brighten my day. My recovery is still going well! I’m out of my pretty pink cast, in an ugly black brace, and have started physical therapy. I must tell you that the little seal you found brought back memories of the video you have of your precious pup meeting the seal 🦭 down on the foreshore. For that reason, the lil 🦭 is my favorite find of this video. I truly loved the pipe that was encased in the clay from the kiln. I’m happy you will be able to donate so much to help document the history of that pipe maker. You continue to produce such quality videos and I thank you for your hard work. Take good care my friend!! Love from DeeAnn in Georgia 🇺🇸

I have an explanation for the pipes embedded in mortar. In Gustave Flaubert's last novel "Bouvard et Pécuchet" his heroes build a door in the wall of their garden, surrounded by old pipes likewise embedded in mortar. It could be a forgotten fad of the times (first half of XIXth century). Thanks for the videos allways lively and informative.
