a lead seal-- give the lady a "hand"! I love your sense of humor.. and your hat!! I recognized Thomas right off- 20 odd years of working in childcare, he is easily spotted! =P =) I am grateful for the internet and your individual and joint jaunts! It's a virtual I Spy game, and I find myself saying out loud, "look there, what is it- pick it up so we can see it" namely what looked like a small cauldron or bean pot or maybe a chamber pot (or none of the above :) ) next to the lamp!! Thank you for taking us along!! I appreciate it!! I can't wait for the video compilation of mini mudlarks!! I'm sure it will be delightful-my thanks to the contributors and you Nicola for showing off their finds!

@@nicolawhitemudlark The round red glass that Si found @ 14:30 is the mate to the green one found @ 10:50...and VERY LIKELY are parts of your nautical, brass lamp. Green is for Starboard//right & red is for Port//left. For restoration purposes: If you are facing the front of the nautical lamp, red would be on "YOUR" right. Kind regards, Ben

@@nicolawhitemudlark BTW: That Crayfish living in the lamp is a good indication the river water is relatively clean. Because...you won't find that creature living in polluted water. You two never ceases to amaze me. What wonderful finds. Here is a little tip for the next time you are in that location... If you begin your larking adventure at the downstream end of the section of the river, as you search and cloud-up the water the current will carry that clouded water away and leave you with clear water to continue teasure hunting.

Hi Nicola. So happy to have this wonderful video to brighten my day. My recovery is still going well! I’m out of my pretty pink cast, in an ugly black brace, and have started physical therapy. I must tell you that the little seal you found brought back memories of the video you have of your precious pup meeting the seal 🦭 down on the foreshore. For that reason, the lil 🦭 is my favorite find of this video. I truly loved the pipe that was encased in the clay from the kiln. I’m happy you will be able to donate so much to help document the history of that pipe maker. You continue to produce such quality videos and I thank you for your hard work. I have an explanation for the pipes embedded in mortar. In Gustave Flaubert's last novel "Bouvard et Pécuchet" his heroes build a door in the wall of their garden, surrounded by old pipes likewise embedded in mortar. It could be a forgotten fad of the times (first half of XIXth century). Thanks for the videos allways lively and informative.

I really like your videos and try to watch them as soon as they come out! As a suggestion, when you are mudlarking on small rivers such as this, would it be possible for you to insert a quick look at a map so that folks like me who live on the other side of the world (i.e.: Florida), could have an idea of where in England you are exploring? Nothing too detailed is necessary. Just something to show us where the river Wey is in relation to London, for example. I missed you last weekend, glad you are well. Wow was that pipe heaven or what! That ship or boat lantern was an awesome find, especially two of the bullseye lens. It would have been either on the bow, or the front of the mast. Great and enjoyable video, thanks, stay safe and well! ❤️

I'm lying down nursing a sore back and yet I get very excited as Si pulled the second lens out of the muck lol I felt as though I was there as the discoveries were being made. I was so happy each time you all pulled up a pipe or a tag and when you pulled out first the lamp then the first lens you'd have thought I'd found them I was so excited :)

Lovely to see you again. I remember that stretch of the River Wey well. Often went boating on those rented punts, rowing boats or canoes. The date on your plaque was one year before I was born. We also went swimming further up from the town at St Catherine's where the was an a old Chapel. Looking forward to seeing Si's lamp polished up. What luck to find the glass lenses.
