The game starts off on 1036 Ganymed, the near-Earth asteroid (same group as Eros) and not Ganymede, the moon of Jupiter.

the clipper mission is doing fly-bys to collect water geyser eruptions the same way drones collect whale snot when they blow water out their blowhole. pretty cool.

I read this comment before watching the video and thought you were talking about a mission you could get in game through the gig nexus or something. My confusion on how that mission was implemented cleared up when I got to the spot in the video.

TIP: When working on the ship at K-LEG, the proximity alert going off every time a ship approached for docking got old real fast, mainly because it broke me out of accelerated time. I discovered that muting the proximity alarm made that problem go away.

Our current understanding of what micro gravity does to the human body ... honestly I don't think humans can survive living in micro G, let alone being born into it. I do like, however, that this game makes it clear you're a fragile little dude who'd be crushed by Earth's Gs

It looks like you can guestimate what ships are what if you go to the ship vendor. So you can find those freighters that have those cargo pods on them and just salvage those.

bout airlocks: qouldnt a turbo air pump thats basically running all the time would make for a decent airlock system if the airlock room is small enough that is. as long as your outer airlock door is kept shut until the ari you took with you from the ship or let out of the pressurized compartment has been pumped out the airlock back into the ship. wouldnt it?
@Rhadamant2 күн бұрын
Yes it could provided you're quite careful about not placing canisters near the output, which I am not. With that said the monetary value of the gas I lose without a pump running is like 10 dollars a day, whereas the power to continually run a turbo pump might actually drain my batteries and strand me in deep space

3:47 they're researching the connection between shipwreckers' altruism and their own greed for food, water and whiskey. I'm sure of it.... 😅

5:50 my current shipwrecker has maxed their training in everything, and repair mult. is at x9 on large items, while smaller items it's at x12. Uninstalling a conduit says x24. As Rhad said, it depends

Gas is cheap and time is money, having to slowly move through airlocks constantly is money.

His 'airlock' does not have proper walls left and right, thus it's not an airlock :D Yet.

I was wondering, lets say you found a derelict ready to fly and installed your ship's transponder to it, skipping the buying derelict from station part. Will game know that youre flying a derelict?
@daryengreye65733 күн бұрын
Not played (no PC) but saw a guide saying using your transponder on a different ship is illegal and will result in harsh punishment from the authorities.
@JohnnyMaverik3 күн бұрын
I believe whilst it's possible it doesn't make it legally yours also the transponder almost always breaks if you try to uninstall it.
@Rhadamant2 күн бұрын
That's what is considered 'less than legal ship ownership' You can install your own ship's transponder on a derelict and fly it around as if it is your own. ATM there isn't a game mechanic to stop you from that, but if you ever get caught doing something ELSE illegal they'll impound your ship and you'll lose it IIRC
@johnmcorigin2389Күн бұрын
Your transponder has a 80% chance to break upon uninstalling. And a new one is expensive!
@toic18 сағат бұрын
@@RhadamantGotcha. I hope they implement something that stops people simply switcing ships. I have the game and played early builds where transponders wasnt in game yet, and used to just switch ships. Dont have a pc anymore but still keeping eye on progress, love to watch people play Ostranouts. Imo this game is all about hard work, blood and sweat. Nothing should be easy. Old fusion reactors were single unit and was way profitable(iirc they would sell around 70k in kleg), if you find one in first derelict you would simply won game. I like devs making right moves about keeping the gane balanced as much as they can. Oh and theres lots of new stuff i havent seen. Cant wait for full build release.

Can I go and completely salvage a derelict ship till last wall and floor? Or must go and buy that derelict and than I can fully salvage it?
@Rhadamant2 күн бұрын
You could salvage it completely, but many of the parts are worthless. Walls, conduits and floors are pennies per piece, so the time you spend stripping them is time wasted IMO ( unless you need them for building )
@johnmcorigin2389Күн бұрын
I disassebled a whole barge like the one he is on at 32:40. I just marked all walls, floors and conduit to uninstall and set my dude on auto. All parts dropped where they were and I collected them with a dolly and two backpacks. Build a nice extension of floors to my shop, dropped all material there and got another load. Only cargo net and the airlock was left. The build process was quite fast with all material on hand nearby.
