Incredible. I'm impressed you were able to capture the rhythm so well. I had intentions of making an arrangement for layered guitars but... gave up. Looking back at my project file in my DAW now, I see I have all kinds of chunks ripped out with phase inverted to almost (the limiter processing on the original adds distortion, and a guitar and harp{?} layer was removed) isolate the melodic parts. It's a mess with a 4/4 (lol) rhythm at 76 BPM but with markers grabbings chunks of 14 or 22 beats, with indicators of 12 bar / 16 bar regions. It's an absolute mess. All that is to say, I'm happy to see somebody succeed where I'd failed. And for solo piano no less! I'm incredibly impressed! Bravo!

I think in 3x3 for a bar (my score was 9/16 so I could beam things). But then there's also cross rhythms, almost like a hemiola. I'll put 0 for a rest and 1 for a note : 101 011 101 // 100 100 100 That's sort of the base groove for the first bit, once you've got that the rest is mostly OK to keep track of. Oh but the melody has a more relaxed feel over the top, almost like it's in 3/4 with straight quavers at times. Give it another try? Maybe just two guitars for the background, maybe some little harp highlights here and there for pingy high notes, though you could always do harmonics instead.

(Though worth noting I'm mostly lining the melody up with the accompaniment in mine because it's too hard not to)

Favourite arrangements ever, from final fantasy to valheim every single one is unique and amazing. If you ever invest in getting a fancy camera setup to look super professional like the bigger KZbin pianists you will explode in popularity I reckon
@TheSlowPianist3 жыл бұрын
It would be nice, but after lockdown a lot of musicians are just trying to find our footing again financially! Also I like the single-take, fixed camera thing. I wouldn't want to be cutting to hand or face close ups or any of that stuff. I guess the ideal would be something like my shadow of the colossus video, simply done but with a good piano and good recording equipment (for that one my friend brought the high end equipment from his work and helped me out).
@whaaaatttttt3 жыл бұрын

Wow, thats perfect! I spent quite some time just trying to grasp the fuck was the time signature supposed to be with a friend and intended to do it on musescore because it sounded so confusing to manually play it
@TheSlowPianist3 жыл бұрын
It's some form of (3 x 3), but neither triplets nor compound time made for an elegant score because of all the cross-rhythms. I eventually settled on 9/16 but it isn't pretty.
