It is not often I catch incredible conditions like this when capturing Landscape Photography. In this video, I photograph some long exposure wide-angle seascapes.

My biggest mistakes throughout my photography journey was arriving late at the location and hustling for a good composition, but now as i am getting better at what iam doing with my images i have realised the importance of getting there early and scouting. It was a great video brother.

I love that faster shutter speed shot of the waves, i like it much better than the longer exposure ones tbh. I find it so refreshing to see a faster shutter speed on moving water done elegantly. Moreover, the texture on that image shows the power of the waves that are coming in, i love it!

Your images are beautiful. I do love long exposure but I have to say I loved the water at the fast shutter speed. Water is always interesting to me as it looks just as beautiful when freezing the motion as it is with a longer shutter speed. Thanks for sharing.

I came across your channel earlier this month and really appreciate your work Michael. AMAZING stuff. coming from an automotive background where I love to integrate beautiful land scapes into my images, your videos have helped me find a new perspective and approach to photographing/videoing my subjects. Especially your acute attention to composition. One of my favorite aspects of being a photographer is the never ending search for knowledge and new perspectives to integrate into your own workflow. Having the ability to see into the mind of another creative is absolutely priceless and I look forward to following along your creative journey.

I like the faster shutter speed image, it has a great look to the water as it’s mostly foam and brings out the action of the water movement. The ethereal shot looks great and gives the viewer a sense of calm. In these two particular images if I had to chose one or another I’d have to pick the faster exposure.
@Thetravelphotocoach
@Thetravelphotocoach 2 жыл бұрын
I enjoyed your faster shutter speed image and liked how you described the contrast of the texture of the water with the smoothness of the clouds. It also made me realise that I prefer to see the power of the waves rather the smooth water of a long exposure. The 1/2 exposure was able to achieve the drama of the waves in the background with the smoother water in the foreground. Thanks for sharing you tip to scout the scene, I’m off to the coast tomorrow with my 10-18mm lens and am exciting to put your info into practice.

Seascape photography can be extra challenging, but when you get super conditions like these & its well captured, it brings you there, makes you feel the splash.. while 500th of a sec gives you a more realistic shot, i feel the longer exposures provide the wow factor and a sense of motion that makes you slow down and really download everything the image has to offer...well done..

Hi Michael, let me first complement you on your calm way of sharing your knowledge. It’s very inspiring. On the seascape I like long exposures which are giving a kind of dreamy effect. On short exposure I like the way a wave is visible when the composition isn’t to messy. Thanks for sharing!

Short story - I was on a workshop with Mr. Page a couple of weeks ago. The subject of really talented photographers came up and he immediately pointed you out. I think you were shooting in dunes (not sure). You asked if it was ok to take a shot on his camera (again unsure of the details here). He said when he got home it was the best image on his card! Really enjoy your work.
