This is a short seascape photo shoot with the 7Artisans 35mm f0.95 lens and FUJIFILM X-E1. It's a manual focus lens, and feels very well constructed. I take the lens on a photo shoot and show example images.
If you're looking for a manual focus lens for FUJIFILM cameras, this is a great option.

Lovely photos... Two things I like: 1) You get great results using gear that many others will not consider worthwhile using. 2) Unlike many KZbin 'celebrity' photographers, you're unassuming, gentle, mild, and believable, and you get wonderful results. Cheers from Australia.

I have a 10-year-old X-E1, and the 18 and 35mm lenses from Fuji as well. However, I find the greatest enjoyment shooting when I pair the camera with my cheap Canon 50mm f1.8 (the plasticky one). It only focuses manually, and is always fully open, because of the adapter ring, but there's something serene and meditative about shooting with full control over the exposure and focus. It's my favorite way to unwind and de-stress.

Chris, have you ever thought of buying a paracord wrist strap? I have them on my X-E2 and X30 and can happily drop my camera any time I like. OK, it does break my arm when I've got the 50-230 on...

I am so glad I found your KZbin channel. It’s driving home, that the newest and the greatest does not ever, make the photograph happen. It’s yourself, locations, and conditions that really matter. I love your presets and going to grab them (have to convert pounds to dollars though as I am in the U.S.) as soon as I can. Cheers!

Have this lens, it's great albeit with some quirks. What is worth stressing is that it has pretty unique, 3D/pop picture characteristics, which I quite adore.

Hi Chris, thanks for your taking us with you on your little trip to the beach. I bought a xt1 a month ago and the xc 35, 2.0 and I am loving the sensations coming from Sony. I have just bought a xe2 with an 25 mm Artisan lens for 220 Euros. Keep up the great work of introducing to us all those older Fuji models...

Great vid. I love phografing the sea as well. I don't know how many times I've had my tripod in rivers lakes and the sea. The ones I had in the sea didn't last long. Sometimes you just got to get wet. I used to live in California oh, so I have to get up early to get those pink skylights. Hike in the dark California Yosemite where the same. I just had to get wet.

Chris, is the noticeable orange cast on the photos caused by the lens, the film simulation, or deliberate manipulation in post.

I have a question, 7artisan make a lenses for different brand and sensor size, does the same lens (like in this video) has different physical size due to the sensor size? I know m4t has an advantage of their size, especially their f/1.7 lineup. But, I want to try manual lenses like ttartisan, laowa, etc. If their lens diameter is a same between apsc and m4t, then my choice may fall into fuji xt30 or xs10 since I love their quirk and seems fun to use. My favourite photo is 12:54, really tell a story and has a contrast between his jacket and the environment, the composition also lovely as well.

No, they're all identical apart from the mount. The lenses are designed for Sony first, and then adapted to Fuji X, Canon M and MFT (and occasional L and Z mount). As such, they're sometimes a bit big and a bit long for MFT.

Maybe you have explained this in other videos, but what is your aversion to straps? Watching you try you climb over slippery rocks with only one free hand was nerve wracking. I keep thin rope style straps on my X-E class bodies, which can be wrapped around the wrist as a wrist strap, or unwrapped an slipped over neck to allow both hand to be free for, uh, climbing on slippery rocks.
