Rex Johnson is the Senior Pastor of Christian Life Austin, a booming, multicultural church in south central Austin, Texas. He has pastored Christian Life Austin since 1990 and has been in ministry for over 50 years serving as lead pastor in two churches previous to coming to Austin.

Rex and his wife of 40 years, Patti Johnson, live in Austin, Texas where they raised three beautiful daughters, Misty, Cassidy, and Kaitlin. Together their three girls have gifted Rex and Patti with nine precious grandchildren. They value family time and enjoy traveling together - yes, that includes all nine grandchildren, three daughters, their daughter's three husbands, a granddaughter-in-law, and Rex and Patti for their annual Johnson Family Vacation. Rex also enjoys attending sporting events, playing golf, watching movies, and spending time with his loved ones. Their ultimate joy is being part of this growing church and seeing lives transformed by the grace of God. Rex started the Rex Johnson Podcast in February 2022 at 71 years old because he has a vision to see others living in hope, building faith, becoming strong leaders, and living the life that God created for them.
Rex is also the author of With a Palm And a Willow, his reflections on a journey from grief to grace.

I love watching all your Podcast videos Pastor Rex, but this one is certainly my favorite. Ted Banks has become a very special man in my families lives. Words can’t express how much we love this guy! Mr. Banks always has a smile on his face and his love for our church shows through him. Our church is truly blessed to have him and his wife serving Jesus at Christian Life Austin.
