The dialogue and story telling in these early Xfiles episodes were absolute art. Should have won Oscars for this scene alone.

I saw this episode when it first aired back in 1995. I was 5 years old and these scenes have stuck with me for the rest of my life even if I didn't exactly know what was happening. Now after seeing it again for the first time in probably a decade I'm struck by how this resembles an open casket funeral reception with friends and family going up to the person to tell them their regrets and memories. But here the situation is inverted. The dead getting to talk to Mulder one last time before he can live again. And as always Mark Snow's score knocks it out of the park!

And that's why aliens don't visit us.... personally if I lived out there, and I ran into a crashed ship. I'm dragging the greys out smothering them in my clothes from my back back, or if I'm near by my cabin or something tent. I'm grabbing the blankets and sleeping bag. trying to stop the green bleeding, perhaps some of the grey's compatriots are still steady enough to instruct me in alien first aid, or glad I'm trying to help. Hopefully the little dude can drink water.
