It's so funny looking back on Frasier in Cheers now that I'm on the 10th season of Frasier. One standout difference between the two shows for me is that I feel like Cheers is a feel good show while Frasier possesses more depth. The theme song to Cheers really captured the essence of the show well about it being a place of recognition, warmth, and joy. When I watch Cheers I get a kick out of the goofiness and light exchanges between the bar patrons while with Frasier I really like the wit and sophistication of Frasier and Niles.
@SDoesNotKnow
@SDoesNotKnow 4 жыл бұрын
I think it was because Frasier truly was about him and his family thus allowing for real character development and growth. Cheers had that at the beginning but once Diane left, it became more of an ensemble show led by the story-jokes-concept than by driving the characters to develop and evolve in a serialized manner.
@NormAppleton

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times…..they should’ve never divorced Frasier and Lilith. I understand why it was done and Frasier the spin-off explored different character territory without her. But I’ll be damned how funny would it have been to seen them together in Seattle with Niles, Ron, Daphne, Marty, & Eddie.

Most women I know who have had children would bounce a skillet off the head of anyone who uttered blather like this about how wonderful pregnancy is. 2400 years ago Euripides' Medea, I suspect, spoke far more for women than does Lilith: "Men say we women have easy lives, Because we sit at home by the hearth While they are off fighting in wars. The fools! I'd sooner stand in the line of battle three times Than bear a child once."
