My heart broken when Fuheng died. He risked his own life to save her once again....that's a heavy burden to carry....all he wanted was for Yingluo to be happy. She gave Fuheng her heart a long time ago...unfortunately she had to bury those feelings in order to survive in the palace...but it's evident that she still loves him....that's the one thing that the asshat Emperor couldn't change...he couldn't stop her from loving Fuheng....and he couldn't stop Fuheng from loving her. Their love for each other was a knot in his stomach...whenever he was reminded of their love...he would punish her. Yingluo walked in the snow for hours because she refused to deny her love for Fuheng...so the Emperor knows that she loved him. I get a great sense of pleasure whenever he's reminded of their love. He deserves every ounce of pain he feels whenever he's reminded of their relationship. He drove them apart for his own selfish reason...so he could never fully be at ease. If he knew that Yingluo agreed to accompany Fuheng in their next life...it would eat him alive.

I agree....she loved them...but in different ways. She gave her whole heart to Fuheng....and half her heart to the Emperor. I don't think she was in love with the Emperor...but she did love him...she just adapted to her circumstances...from the moment she decided to be with him...she saw him as a weapon to be used in order to get justice for the late Empress. She would've never given him the time of day if he didn't offer her what she really wanted.....REVENGE

Me too...it was so heartbreaking. The realization that Fuheng sacrificed himself to save her...brought tears to my eyes. Yingluo finally knew the extent of his love for her.

A lesson I've learned from this drama is that if you pursue revenge you may get it, but you will lose everything else. If Yingluo had stopped trying to get revenge when she was still just a servent, her life would be so much happier. She would be able to marry Fuheng, the Empress and Mingyu would still be alive. She still got a little bit of happiness in the end, and I enjoy her relationship with the Emperor, but she lost so much and suffered so much to get to this point...

He didn't die in battle, he died from malaria which he contracted while fighting in a battle but he refused to leave his men to care for his own health: he fought beside them, leading them, until malaria killed him. They were each other's truest loves, even though he was forced to marry another by the Emperor to separate him from Yinglo, and Yinglo was the Emperor's weakness because he could not tame her like he did the rest of his harem women - to him, she was a challenge and the chase was on, a chase he never truly won. He could not tolerate that her heart belonged to another man, especially one of much lower status than his own. He foolishly thought 'out of sight, out of mind' but he didn't have the slightest clue that once in someone's heart, you can interfere all you want and make your power plays by manipulating them via climate, environment, status, position, punishment, threats, location but if those two hearts have promised in sincerity and truth, you can be Emperor of the universe and you won't ever be loved by force or intimidation or threats as powerfully as those two hearts love one another: that forced love you think is so desirable will never feel complete or fulfilling because you took something that wasn't given to you willingly and that 'something' you took is for this life only and only through obedience, coercion or acquiescence was it given; that soulmate love is for eternity so death on this earth holds no fear or terror, only hope, anticipation and the promise of a beautiful love for eternity to be fulfilled. The Emperor was never as happy as he was sure he'd be once he eliminated Fuheng from the palace environment and it drove him nuts. He foolishly believed that by getting rid of Yinglo's true love, she'd simply swap them in her heart and forget all about Fuheng because the Emperor believed he was the better man. But his very act of marrying Fuheng to another woman Fuheng did not want to marry, was miserable in fact during the entire wedding ceremony and afterwards, only served to make Yinglo despise him as a man even more than she had before: she had entered the palace with a mission to complete and she was prepared to do whatever it took to accomplish that mission even being drooled over by the Emperor. She would never, ever love him the way he demanded that she love him and that enraged him, but she never lied to him about that either: she walked in the snowstorm for hours rather than denounce her true love - her actions speaking louder than her words ever could because the Emperor was deaf when it came to hearing her on this matter. He may have eventually owned her body, but he never owned her heart and knowing that followed him his entire life.
